This Week's Essential Tracks!

LOSTPROPHETS, IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD BUT I CAN SEE IT FROM HERE
An acoustic run-through of the enormous anthem-in-waiting from Lostprophets’ new The Betrayed album. Unplugging it doesn’t make it sound any less huge, though.

ROB ZOMBIE, SICK BUBBLEGUM
Rob Zombie’s returned, and here he is with a huge dose of OTT metal stomp and B-movie horror schlock. Welcome back, you undead, movie-making, horror loving loon.

WOLFMOTHER, WHITE FEATHER
Surely Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale has tapes of riffs Led Zeppelin never used. Otherwise, how could he come up with riffs like this? Pure classic rock quality.

TWIN ATLANTIC, LIGHTSPEED
Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic are on a roll at the moment. Listening to this humdinger of a tune, they’re showing no signs of losing momentum any time soon.

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES, MATTERS AT ALL
A taster for their forthcoming second album, Dirt, due on March 29, Matters To All is packed to bursting with lovely, shiny hooks and honey sweet melodies. Good work, Welsh blokes.

EVERGREEN TERRACE, EVERLONG
This metalcore take on the Foo Fighters classic is as heavy as it is brilliant. Which is very. Foo’s metal loving frontman Dave Grohl would be proud.

ENTER SHIKARI, THUMPER
Probably not about the rabbit from Bambi, this new single from the St Albans dance-rock mob is as smashing as anything of last year’s stunning 5 K-rated Common Dreads album,

HIM, LIKE ST VALENTINE
For a song about love, Like St Valentine certainly has a big riff. But, then, why do you think they call it love metal, eh?

WE ARE THE OCEAN, THESE DAYS, I HAVE NOTHING
A highlight from their 4 K-rated new album, Cutting Our Teeth, this is surely a classic-in-waiting for these Harlow rockers.

AIRBOURNE, NO WAY BUT THE HARD WAY
Aussie rock ‘n’ roll loons Airbourne recorded their new album No Guts, No Glory in a pub. Unsurprisingly, this riffy tune is the perfect soundtrack to a wild night of partying.

I am loving Kids In Glass Houses right now they are an amazing live band and am super excited to see them with Lostprophets next week. I think the new album is going to be infectious if Matters At All is anything to go by.
I obviously love the Lostprohets track too, and am loving the album The Betrayed which in my opinion was worth 5k's

Thought KIGH would have a bit more energy when they opened the first Lostprophets gig on Thursday in Leicester.. they were a bit lack lustre really. They're a talented band, but their set was quite short and the only time we (the crowd, obv :p) were moving was with Give Me What I Want. Hmm. Maybe nervous- first show of the tour and opening for Lostprophets?

Airbourne!!!

I'd like to say a big HEALL YEAH for Airbourne "No Way But the Hard Way" being on the playlist. Because these guys are the closest I'm ever gonna come to seeing AC/DC. Not only do they have the same flare as the greats but their modus operandi is the same, ROCK HARD! Quality band.
