Are Fall Out Boy officially over?

Bassist Pete Wentz has blogged that he can’t see Fall Out Boy getting back together. And so has singer Patrick Stump. OMGZ!

The emo superstars officially went on hiatus in October last year and released their greatest hits album, Believers Never Die, the following month.

"[I] don't know the future of Fall Out Boy," Wentzy wrote in an entry on his official website, petewentz.com. "As far as I know Fall Out Boy is on a break. As much as I don't have a solo project, I also can't predict that I'd ever play in Fall Out Boy again."

“In this statement I'd like to include there is the possibility that FOB will play again without me or I will be a part of it when everyone is on the same page," he added.

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump, who, as previously reported, is currently working on a solo album, responded by saying:

"I'm not in Fall Out Boy right now. But one way or another, the band will always be around in some form. Steven Tyler isn't in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith. Whether we play again or not, I don't know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don't, it will also be for the right reasons."

I took a break from doing work and saw this.
Now I'm happy.
Also, Tyler is in Aerosmith...they just have major problems right now. MAJOR PROBLEMS.
The other half of FOB is Ok. I fucking hate Stump and Pete Wentz though.

I think they should get back together.
In my opinion, they are the greatest band ever, and I'll probably get slaughtered for saying that but everyone is entitled to express their own opinion.
But on the otherhand, as Patrick said, they're still going to exist, so I dunno.
I had a funny feeling this was gonna happen as soon as Bronx was born and now I hate Ashlee even more for it as she has proved me right.
The chance of meeting them (Fall Out Boy) is burnt entirely to a crisp now. Just hope they never forget the impact they made on certain people's lives. :)

Their music is not "bad" - it might not just be your taste. Patrick has an amazing, unique voice, Pete has great stage presence, Joe is pretty awesome at guitar, and Andy, well Andy hits those drums like a mofo.

And besides, since when did the music industry turn into 'who can be the best band ever' and not 'hey, let's just play to entertain people'?

Ok, people are entitled to opinions regarding music, you will have your own opinion of fall out boy and every other band. But its extreme to insult them and cheer about it. If you don't like the band, fine. but don't just delve too far into things and slag them off, that's pointless. Ok, they might not be first choice for a lot of people, but at least they're not one of these pointless talentless rappers and R 'n' B artists that clog up our radios and music channels everyday. They did well for themselves, and if they are breaking up, they had a good run, and if not, then lets hope they continue the success they had.

I would love to see fall out boy reunite somwhen in the futur but now i agree with them.


they should take time off, cool down, even rest!, maybe in 2 to 5 years time they should see what should happen and if they feel that they think that they are up to reuniting then thats what they should do

if they still feel the same way and dont think they could do it (for personal reasons) then they should anounce the split for good then.

just let them take the time off they need and wait in time.

They're just saying it to create drama, It will make their comeback bigger. They make to much money in FOB no way will they stop forever. fall out boy made me who i am, if i hadnt have herd there first album take this to your grave, nince years ago i probably wouldnt be who i am. everything i am now has been influenced by fall out boy, the clothes i wear, the friends i have. and i no i definitly wouldnt have taken up guitar lessons and gotten into a band. Fall out boy have taught me so much and although it is said to hear they have gone, i respect them, ive looked up to them. There music isnt going any where, there just not making anymore which is sad, but great things will come of this for each band member and i wish them good luck in everything they do xox
