Miley Cyrus records Poison cover

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has apparently recorded a cover of the Poison classic, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, for her next single.

Cyrus has also apparently roped in Poison frontman Bret Michaels to duet on the track.

"'Every Rose' is one of her all-time favourite songs and she is really excited about cutting it," Cyrus’s mother, Tish, told People.com.

In related news, Cyrus’s brother’s band, Metro Station, have been voted Worst Band Of The Year in the 2009 Kerrang! Readers’ poll.

With pretty much nothing but Paramore, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, Metro Station featuring in Kerrang! these days, I'm not surprised that we're starting to get Miley Cyrus updates as well.

Pull your head out of your arses, Kerrang!, and get some decent fucking music in your magazine.

It is to a certain degree. I agree that there are some awesome old bands about that produce new and relevant material that sells in bucketloads - recent albums from AC/DC, Metallica, Alice in Chains prove this. However, NEW rock n roll bands don't stand a chance no matter how decent they are. For example what will be the chances of seeing a Heaven's Basement (look em up) or Steadlur album in the top ten? Except for maybe Velvet Revolver (made up of members of old bands) I can't really think of any recent rock n roll bands that have had a big fuss made over them in the mainstream. And before anybody says it, Fall Out Boy aren't rock n roll.
I'm talking about something that makes the same impact on the music industry as, say Appetite For Destruction did back in 87.
Sadly the golden age of rock n roll has gone. Its up to some of us, if we really are as pissed off at all this as we say we are, to do something about it and bring the rock back.

we need a new Nirvana and grunge movement except a completely different genre of music because I never really liked grunge that much apart from Bush X. but seriously there are some good artists there generating buzz like The Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Jamie T, M.I.A, Lily Allen, Pete Doherty, Bat For Lashes, Ladyhawke, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Tegan and Sara, MSTRKRFT, Metric, Radiohead, The Vines there are a lot of them but unfortunately Kerrang doesn't talk about them because Kerrang only talks about the shitty rock stars that deserve no respect and also they are currently starting to talk about Miley Cyrus saying that it is "good music." what a shame.

In this current day and age, there isn't much that an match up to great artists like Zeppelin, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Mettalica etc. The fun seems to have been sucked out of music, and rock n roll is just becoming another victim. There is no skill in the profession anymore. Nobody is playing music for fun. It's just another way to make money and show off looks, apeasing to the record company juggernauts who wipe their asses on good music.

Any decent upcoming artists like Heavens Basement (glad to see someone finally knows about them), The Answer, Slaves To Gravity, Stone Gods etc. ain't gonna stand a chance due to peoples lack of what a real rock n roll record should be like. By the way, this was written by an 18 year old, someone who wasn't even there for the classics. Still keep them close to me though =)

i dont liek miley cyrus and dont agree with her being in kerrang. i also dont think that kerrang deals enough with a huge demographic of rock fans that dont like paramore. however kerrang are a business and at the end of the day they are there to make money and therfore if this stuff moves the magazines they are quite welcome to print it

if miley cyrus and the stuff kerrang prints is not to your taste jsut dont buy it. then wen readership goes down they will identify the problems with the magazine and fix them.

Does anyone else remember when Kerrang was relevant and gave us anything that avoided an obsession with the asthetics of bands, over saturated teen-rock, mediocre opinions, overly simplisitc and short minded reviews and news that is often echoed in magazines that 12 year old X factor fans read. How the mighty fall. Plus, if you really care about the new haircuts of the girl from Paramore or the annoying guy from the Blackout then you really should buy an Alice in Chains record, or anything with some substance. Please, grow a soul, think for more than fifteen seconds and listen to anything that will withstand more than 2 years.

I've read a lot of NME's reviews and their opinions all seem relevant and I agree with most of the things they have to say and all the bands they talk about are amazing. whereas Kerrang will say "this artist is amazing blah blah blah" and then on the very next issue say that they suck. also NME talks about all the artists that I love so much whereas Kerrang talks about all the artists I really hate and tries to make them seem like they are good when most of them don't deserve any respect. just an observation. I used to like Kerrang a really long time ago but it seems they're only talking about shittier and shittier artists. also there's no point in reading a magazine where every single band sucks. I'd prefer reading a magazine where I like almost every single band and could find out about more of them (NME). I'm not saying Kerrang needs to be an exact replica of NME but that they need to start covering better bands and artists.

First of all, are you fucking serious BRAAAP?
This isn't rock/metal as it should be in a magazine/site that claims to be such stuff, this is generic, money-spinning shite, and it's generally commonly known that MOST, not all, (actual) rock and metal bands write their own music and lyrics, unlike Miley Cyrus and a lot of pop bands etc.
I'm 17, and so still a teen and thus protesting against the labels of teen-scene but this is just pathetic - as already mentioned - every week it's Paramore etc. who really aren't rockish and thus have no place in this magazine.
I get K! because i love my metal/rock, not some diluted shite, and really...did someone actually say Miley Cyrus is amazing? Sure she has talent but it's wasted already. The teen-scene fans that I'm proud to be seperate from epitomise the shitehole that not just K! has become, but tbh most of the country - too worried about other peoples' opinions to publish their own and stick to their own-shown in the media, government and the music industry, hence the reason I'm becoming increasingly desperate to leave this country, if only it weren't for Sonisphere, one of the last great things in this country, holding me back.

shes probably ruined the song, i'm not really into poison but why the fuck does miley cyrus think she can just fucking kill rock and roll?! she said on the jonathon ross show that her genre of music is 'rock', i was fucking killing myself laughing! she thinks shes rock.

Miley Cyrus couldn't kill rock n roll if she took her entire pointless life to do it. she tried to ruin Radiohead and failed miserably. what could she ever accomplish in her life? oh right. just make shitty music for 5 yr olds.

O.o typical children

One thing most people don't seem to understand and it really pees me off is the difference between not liking something and something being shit.

Fact i myself can not sing and if i were to ever release someting 9heaven forbid) then yes it would be crap, but the likes of Miley Cyrus and the rest of teh Disney Kids are a talented bunch of pop artists whom can sing and write cheesy pop music. you don't have to like it or listen to it. N

But the main thing most people forget isthat todays 'pop culture' is so so so different from the 90's ....afterall if Rage do become Christmas No1 will you stop listening to them ....afterall by definition they will become the very thing most seem so against and are slating Kerrang for writing about .....a pop act

What The Actual Fuck

I started buying Kerrang around 2005/2006 when i started really getting into metal and punk and it seemed to be a good sorce of info and interview for £2.00 . To be fair over the years i bought it, you bought my attention to many of my favourite bands like Gallows, Mastodon and The Bronx . But even with Gallows you turned them fucking gay . At first your shots were of live performances or good photoshoots . Then a year later you were making them look like pretentious fucking pansies to market to the gay kiddies who think BMTH are cool or that My Chemical Romance are deep . Just because they release a dark and depressing album dosn't mean they suddenly attract an emo audience or any of those self-loathing and self-pitying twatish cunts .

Miley Cyrus is good at what she does (for a 16 year old to write 'the climb' is a good achievement )but she does not belong on the pages or website of this magazine . Same goes for metro station or any of those shit pop bands that you constantly put on your cover . Paramore are forgivable because allthough not to metal heads taste and mostly having a shit fanbase they do write decent music (especially their newer stuff) but being not on the front page every week would go some way to them being accepted by a wider audience .

I have lost faith in Kerrang completely now , have done for about a year or two , but this is the final nail in the coffin. To make matters worth Gallows and NME hate each other now so i'll most likely not get an an honest interview or review , plus Metal Hammer , although many good interviews and stories , has a lot of shitty bands in it . fml .
