World exclusive! Limp Bizkit name new album

In a world exclusive interview, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has revealed the title of the band’s forthcoming album.

Durst called the K! office to reveal the title of the follow-up to 2005’s The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) an hour ahead of posting it on his Twitter page.

"We thought we'd tell Kerrang! before everyone," says Durst. "I'm ready to make this post on Twitter but I figured I'd call you guys first.

"The name of the new Limp Bizkit album is Gold Cobra," he continues. "We will slowly be revealing the meaning of the title over the next few weeks. Cobras are quite venomous. I wish it were a much longer, more ridiculous title, but Gold Cobra is as ridiculous as we're going to get right now."

Gold Cobra will be released early next year through Flip/Interscope/Polydor.

dude your a tottal ass. i was following the bizkit that whole time, fred has already said that this year they have created and recorded an ALL NEW album. TUT2 is already finished and waiting for another day, if you dont realise that then you are being silly coz every other "fan" knows this is true. He wasnt buying for time, wes saidat the same time period when asked if he thought tut2 would get released, that he hoped so. They made it all at the same time, seriously. this is not off wikipedia dude, its just common fan knowledge. One day when tut2 emerges, and it cleary has the sound of tut1, you will be proved wrong.

The Unquestionable Truth Part II was never planned, check the archive on any music news site and also Fred was commited to Acting and making Movies, the first time a follow-up to TUTP2 was mentioned was late last year when Terry Balsamo was said to have joined the band

LB release TUTP1
LB record parts of TUTP2 (no vocals, just rough instrumentals, wes leaves)

nothing happens

Wes returns
LB make Gold Cobra

Consider TUTP2 as unfinnished and unreleased demo's that are in the background right now.

Sure there may be parts on GC that are directly riffs that were gonna be used on TUTP2, but it's a different album

Are they trying to make their new album like the James Bond film, Gold finger. They should have named their album Unicorns N Rainbows. Fred said the new album would be heavy with more power to the guitars. I hope that's true.

I'm pretty sure Fred said they finished the album (just without vocals) before they released the first one back in 2005.

On the name of the title:
It's different. I'm not gonna bash it though because I don't know what it means... But knowing Fred & Wes's sense of humour it will be something totally retarded :D

...I wish they woulda called it, "Haters". that woulda been a good title. LOL But who cares about "Gold Cobra". Freddy said he'll reveal more shit about the meaning about it anyway.

Besides, once they get back on tour with their new CD, I think ppl won't care about the name. I wonder how many ppl bitched about "Chocolate Starfish" that followed up from 1999's "significant other". What's that? I didn't hear you. STFU.

i cant wait to hear what it sounds like. the title is what it is, just like music everyone has their own taste and opinion. gold cobra.... it serves the purpose. as for the bashing of other peoples bands for advertising themselves is a bit much, being in a band you take advantage of any outlet for advertising that you can. everyone has their own taste in music, some people will like it some people wont, i personally dont care if someone says my bands music is shit or it sucks, because for every 1 person who hates it theres 9 more that like it. to f3tch and any other band trying to be heard, keep doin what you do! oh yeah while your at it check out my band http://www.myspace.com/belowsixth and if you like it pick up the album "silence the past" on itunes or rhapsody lol hey how could i resist. now go ahead flame on!

Uhhh, Title?

Ok, 2 things. First, if you think "Gold Cobra" is a bad title, what did you think of "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water"? The title doesn't get more ridiculous than that, yet it was still a great album. With that in mind, you can only guess why Fred chose that name, but once you find out, it will stick. Second, since when did the title of an album matter, it's all about the music! Time to Limp with the Bizkit again!!!! And if you don't like them, cool. Don't be a 5 year old and post lame crap like "another stupid album" blah blah blah. You know every one of the tools who say stuff like that has Significant Other in their CD collection.
