Slayer cancel tour dates

Slayer have been forced to cancel their Canadian tour dates with Megadeth, Machine Head and Suicide Silence because frontman Tom Araya has been admitted to hospital for urgent back surgery.

It is unknown if Araya will be well enough to play their upcoming UK tour which kicks off in Nottingham on November 18.

"What is foremost in our minds right now is that Tom do whatever he needs to to get this taken care of,” said guitarist Kerry King. “While all four of us are disappointed that we won't be able to see through all of our commitments set for the next few weeks, the most important thing is Tom's health.

Slayer's new album, World Painted Blood, is out this week.

This is clearly God's punishment for Slayer's blasphemy and disrespect to our Lord and Savior.

He shall suffer like Christ suffered so he may see the error of his loathesome ways.

Give it a rest. Slayer are amazing. Also if you knew ANYTHING Tom Araya is a catholic and believes in a God who loves everyone. It's right here..Feel free to rad.

Live peacefully, and love one another." When asked if he believed in God, replied "I believe in a supreme being, yeah. But He's an all-loving God." Araya explained that he has a "really strong belief system," and Slayer's words and images will "never interfere with what I believe and how I feel.... People are not in good shape to where they have to question their own belief system because of a book or a story somebody wrote, or a Slayer song." Tom Araya also appeared in Sam Dunn's documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, and was asked about his religious background, to which he commented "Catholic." He was also asked "God Hates Us All, How does it fit in?" To which Araya replied "God doesn't hate. [But] it's a great fucking title."...
