My Chemical Romance new album EXCLUSIVE!

In this week’s Kerrang! magazine, My Chemical Romance give us an exclusive preview of the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2006’s The Black Parade.

Frontman Gerard Way has revealed that the emo superstars’ forthcoming album will be a vast departure from the epic grandeur and theatrics of The Black Parade.

“Our original game plan was to make a very quick, very visceral record,” Gerard told Kerrang!, and also revealed that, for the first time ever, this album will not have one overall concept.

“To be able to let go of your game plan is really hard,” he explains. “There were many times where we had to really move on our feet very quickly and say, ‘No, the album’s taking a turn and we need to accept it, because if we fight it we’ll end up with a record that doesn’t make any sense’.”

“Everything is taking so much longer, in a really great way,” he added. “We’ve never been able to go through the songs like this and get things as great as we possibly can. It’s always been like, ‘You’ve got three months to record and two weeks to mix, then you’re back on an airplane to go tour again!’. This time, we afforded ourselves the luxury of exploring every song.”

Kerrang! have been milking the Emo Cash-Cow dry since My Chemical Romance's last No 1 album dropped in 2006, Need proof?, take a look at every Kerrang! album, Magazine and "Greatest Ever countdown" (TV) since then

And the funny thing is, Kerrang has done the exact same thing to every shitty teen scene band since it's inception back in the mid '80's, yet nobody is any wiser, it seems the whole world is suffering from a severe case of "Combover Testicle-Free Skinny Jean Fucktardedness"

You can argue all you want, but that's what you get when you're core audience consists solely of Angsty Pre-Teen Scene Kids

For example, does anyone know Styx?, Quiet Riot? or Ratt?, They were three of the biggest names in the 80's Glam Rock Scene, They had many No1 Multi-Platinum albums and played to sold-out audiences across the globe, Yet today it's as if these bands didn't exist, just imagine in a few years time kids will be just as puzzled as you are now when asked about MCR, Fall Out Boy & Paramore

you do make a point, that the 'greatest bands' after they have that status never live up to it again, and yes bands like styx and quiet riot are never talked about now, but the bands you listed at the top still are, all of them are still massive influences on people so going by what you've given me, you are wrong, my chem will still be about in 5/10 years, they might not be making more music but they will still be massive influences on people.

Nope, "The Greatest Band Ever" is just a tag, used to make idiotic teens part with their cash, some more obvious tags are the "You Have To Hear This Now" and my personal favorite "You're New Favorite Band"

And as for the"massive influences" take Nu Metal for example, Korn made it extremely popular, they sold millions of albums and toured around the world, and it seemed every other band at that time [Papa Roach, Lostprophets and Jeff Killed John to name a few (that lasted)] named them their biggest influence, yet today you would'nt even know that they even heard a Korn Record.

And of course the bands on the list above are still big influences, they are the pioneering bands

i'm an mcr fan, maybe their style of music is defined as emo but that dont mean the fans are emo. im in no way emo, i dont embrace or distaste the emo culture which has generated over the years. in the wider scale of things, whether people are emo or not, they are still people and tbh why do some of you people care if mcr are emo or not, if their not your type of band then dont listen to them, its as simple as that, there are plenty of others out there (myself included) who will listen to mcr for you. defining mcr fans as emo just because the style of music is labelled as emo is like saying all fans of scooter wear tracksuits and drink buckfast just because that sort of music is popular with those who choose that lifestyle. taste in music does not define the person who listens to the said genre.

I hope this album will be more like Bullets. I didn't like The Black Parade much, but Three Cheers was good.

And to the dudes above that keep slagging off MCR, what is the point? Get a life. People like bands, people don't. If you're so bothered about MCR being in KERRANG!, then write to them, but there is no point in complaining to fans who are obviously gonna beat you.

Okay, I love MCR, but I find it annoying when people come on here and complain to no end about the haters. If you don't like them, IGNORE THEM! It's NOT hard! Honestly though, I love the haters. Mcr new 2010 album

I reall can't wait for the new stuff I've loved all of mcrs CDs they are all so diff wich is what I love about their music they don't stick to one particular way of playing and that's just what music is I've loved many diff types of music from rap techno hip hop jazz metal blue grass country indie classical all thoose are all just labels in they end it's all just music melodys notes love it hate we are all united my the same love of the art

First, I'll express my opinion on the article.
I'm so fucking excited for this album! I hope it sounds more like Revenge. It's my favorite album.

Why does this always happen? It only seems to happen with MCR articles, too.

I'm not going to yell at all the haters.
In my opinion, My Chemical Romance is a great band, and I love them and can't wait for the new album. But other people have other opinions. I respect that. If you don't like MCR, great for you. That's your opinion, I can't change that no matter what. But even if you hate them, there's no reason for you to come and bash them. Just saying. (: They make their music for their fans. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they should be wiped off the face of the earth. If you don't like MCR, then just stop reading articles on them, stop watching their videos, stop listening to their music. You won't piss off anyone if you just ignore them.

And stop saying "OMFG MCR R NAWT EMO~!!@q11!" and also "MCR R SO EMOOOWO!@223Q11!" because no one should care! Do they really have to be put in one classification? Their music isn't emo. Their music isn't not emo. Music is music.

I will defend them if I see fit. They mean a lot to me, and they've saved my life and many other lives. I know it's not directly, but the power of music can be infinite.

By the way, Gerard has probably kissed many men. I only know of two. But he's been married to a woman for two years and they had a baby girl in May. And the rest of the band are all married to WOMEN.

Soo... that was my two cents. I know this won't stop all the hate and fighting between the haters and the fans, but I try.

It seems like MCR are forgetting what they stand for. They're for standing up for what you believe, keeping yourself alive and well, and trying to keep the peace. How is a "love letter to rock and roll" supposed to save lives? :/ I'm not sure if the new stuff will have the same amazing "MCR" feel to it, you know? I don't know. I'm just hoping for the best.

oh ffs, all songs have emotion in it, from eminem, queen, pink, all the way to mcr, if it does not have emotion then its just a waste time. please, someone define 'emo' to me, cos it stands for emotion, which everyone apart from a robot should have. they dont cut themselves, (which isnt 'emo' but whatever), they wear everyday normal clothes, no make up anymore, and they are 32 and cant stop talking about how happy they are with their lives. does that sound like depressing shit to you?

an emo is a person who over exagerates there emotions who make up storys or complain about small things that go wrong with them,and most of the emos iv seen have very large mood swings witch are one of the main reasons there annoying,emos are just looking for attention and will do anything to get it

i new mcr wouldnt fade away into the back round they have made to much of a stand to do that......i didnt like "the black parade" as much as there older albums and there new one will deside for me if there still my fave or not.......i hope this one is gonna rock!!!!!

MCR arent emo in the way they sit in dark rooms slitting ther wrists, thats a stereotype. They do however have an emo image. Im probably cast as an emo, but thats just my image :/ Anyway, cant fucking WAIT for ther new album and then theyl start touring again :) x
