Guns N' Roses team up with John Lewis

Guns N' Roses have allowed British department store chain John Lewis to use their 1988 hit Sweet Child O’ Mine in a Christmas advertising campaign.

The advert features a re-recorded version of the rock classic by Swedish folk band Taken By Trees. In its time, Sweet Child O' mine has also been covered by Sheryl Crow, Manic Street Preachers, Tenacious D, Carrie Underwood, Texas and Bonnie Tyler among others.

Taken By Trees' version available to download now via iTunes.

Oh dear

I'm confused now, I have heard that Guns n Roses didn't allow it but Taken by Trees changed the song around a bit so that the cover could be used legally in the advert!
