Stone Temple Pilots plan new album

Grunge legends Stone Temple Pilots, who reformed in April last year after a five year hiatus, are currently working on a new album.

The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da will be the Californian band’s first studio output in almost eight years.

"When we get back from [our US] tour, we're going to finish the album," frontman Scott Weiland told Spinner.com. "Then, when we finish the album, there will be a big tour around its release and that will probably be a long tour."

Weiland expects the album to be available next summer, however the release may be delayed because the band are currently being sued by their former label, Atlantic Records, for alleged breach of contract.
