Paramore’s brand new illness

Paramore were forced to postpone a series of dates on their US tour earlier this month due to frontwoman Hayley Williams being taken down with a bad case of laryngitis.

But, after returning to the stage last week, guitarist Taylor York has now been taken ill.

“We're seriously considering buying a gas mask,” joked Williams. “Everyone is getting sick. Taylor had a cough and a couple of other dudes on tour weren't feelin' good the other day.”

Paramore are due to play a sold-out show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom tomorrow night (October 21) but, ever the professionals, they have vowed to soldier on.

Paramore's sold-out UK tour kicks off on December 10 at Glasgow's SECC and finishes at London's Wembley Arena on December 18.

This is why...

Because they are contributing slowly to the death of original and independent music, playing it safe for their own money instead of being artists, and getting on their knees for the major labels. They see that this shit is bland enough to appeal to a mass audience and so just crank out the same old shit, killing interest after the fad audience is gone and sucking resources away from acts that deserve it. Death to mainstream rock.

Mainstream rock doesn't suck

Paramore is not that bad. You can't expect from anyone to reach a status like e.g. Green Day has now. Green Day went mainstream in 1994 but they never sold their soul to the devil. If you look where they are now, every band can take them as an example. More than the music itself, it's the soul and philosphy behind the music that really matters.
