Oli Sykes: "I rub people up the wrong way"

In this week's Kerrang! magazine Bring Me The Horizon's controversial frontman Oli Sykes gives his most revealing interview ever!

Here's an extract:

WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE HAVE GOT YOU WRONG?
OLI: "I don't know - I'm just one of those people who you either love or hate. At the end of the day, I don't blame anyone. Everybody hates people for no reason. I look at people - pop stars - and I hate them, just because of the way they look or what they do. I guess I rub people up the wrong way. I make their blood boil. I have no idea why."

YOU MUST HAVE SOME IDEA.
OLI: "We had a few bad write ups in interviews. I guess I was naãve - I came across badly. At the time our first tour took place we were 18. We were mental. We got fucked every night, we got pissed up. We got into fights and caused a lot of trouble. We were onstage playing, drunk out of our minds, not playing songs right. I guess it was amazing, but we couldn't have carried on like that for long. We've never been angels."

i've just read the whole article in kerrang, and it really does let you in.
like oli says, the haters don't know him, and they wouldn't say it to his face, they just sit at home bitching about him on their computers.
so i think all the haters should get lives and stop commenting about things they hate.

i liked bmth theyre talented and have pretty good songs and i used to love oli and think he was so amazing :S
but when i added him on fb

I totally agree with @ charl posted by lol.

I love BMTH, they are a very good band and a bunch of extremely talented guys. I have seen them twice and everytime they put on an amazing show.

It's funny how the people that talk shit about Oli and BMTH have never actually met or spoken to the guy. He is actually a pretty nice guy . Very quiet and shy. So yeah... the guys may have been different two or three years ago...

BMTH may not have done the best things in the past, but atleast he acknowledges it and admits that he is not perfect. You have to respect the guy for that.

As for the facebook thing. It looks to me that the facebook page is well... FAKE. As far as I know Oli only has a myspace.

I find the internet a funny thing, plenty of people will sit and talk shit about others whome they don't know and often have never even met. This goes for BMTH aswell. I am a long time fan of the band, to the point where I've been to gigs of theirs when they used to play at the Leadmill in Sheffield. And I've never seen any reason to hate anyone like many people hate Oli sykes.
He's a nice, down to eath shy bloke. All that seems to be happening is that everyone jumps on the bandwagon of "oh everyone seems to hate Bring Me The Horizon, I'm going to hate them too" well let me tell you, its not a new thing. Nothing's changed since the band started. I still wonder how it is people can form such a strong opinion to want to attack or kill someone just because they don't like the music they make. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. End of.
It 's pointless, the sheer number of people who will comment things about the band or members with negative opinion and write as if its fact expecting everyone to accept it. After all opinion is like an asshole. Everyones got one but noone wants to hear it.
I'm not a scene kid. I don't fancy oli sykes. I just like his music.
Frankly nothing is going to change. I can't see any reason that if something is so aweful, how could it be making money and getting a fan base? The answer, its not aweful. You simply don't like it. Stop being fascists and just accept that different people like different things.

I'm sorry, but in my travels, and my practice, I've yet to come across any metalhead who actually listen to fake bullcrud like the shit Sykes and the rest of his travelling circus excrete.

I find they listen to bands like Maiden, Priest, Overkill, Grand Magus, etc. Whereas BMTH fans seem to be exclusively made up of scene kids who want to outdo each other in retardedness.

I don't understand why people hate Oliver Sykes or Bring Me The Horizon, and I don't get why people dislike their new album. They're MUSICIANS, and musicians evolve and try different things, and so what if they make a remix album? Its just for fun, its not like their becoming a techno group or something....Suicide Season and Count Your Blessings have very different appoaches, the way they play guitar, song structures, vocals, their just trying something new, doing THEIR thing.
