Green Day @ 02

3 weeks today, I cant wait. This will be my first Green Day concert, and I can't wait to see my not only favourite band, but idols, grace the stage at O2 arena.
Ill be there on the Friday, hopefully get barrier so I can get Billie's attention and get up there for 'Longview'! Would make my dream gig anyday.
I can't wait to see them come out to 'Song of the Century' but my adrenaline will really start to pump when Green Day start pumping out songs from Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod. Hopefully a Kerplunk surprise too ;)
Songs I cant wait for -
Basket Case
She
Longview
Good Riddance
Jaded
Hoping they play (some may be unlikely) -
Going to Pasalaqua
Pulling Teeth
Take Back
Redundant
Ha Ha Your Dead

This will surely be the best gig of my life, ever.

Birmingham and Wembley

I've got tickets to see them at the NEC in Birmingham, and then again at Wembley Arena in London! It'll be the first time I've seen them and I'm ridiculously excited already. I've waited five years to see them! I'm gonna be queing from about 5am to make sure we get right to the front. It would be amazing if they played some songs from their first two albums - I'd love to hear "2000 Light Years Away". But I know that whatever they do, they'll be the best shows I've ever been to!

Seeing the guys at Birmingham LG arena on 28th October. I’ve been a massive fan for 16yrs but this is my first time at one of their live shows (oh, the shame!). I’m expecting a mix of old and new tracks and a few surprises to boot…and a dream gig would be just that! (although a shout out, interview with the band or invite out on stage would really take the cherry!)

Birmingham, couldnt get tickets for Manchester =[

My first time seein them, i like the old and new stuff. would be my dream if the crowd treat it as a punk rock gig and not a pop concert. saw Fob in birmingham and the crowd was wank,. Hopfully loads of pits and jumpin about :)

Glasgow SECC

It seems like AGES since I got tickets for the 19th Oct, Glasgow.

It is not my first time seeing them (5 or 6 times now). The best year was 2005 after seeing them 3 times at - Glasgow, Milton keynes and T in the Park. Every gig I went to I got closer and closer to the stage where I finally managed to get to the 2nd row at T in The Park :D [ http://www.flickr.com/photos/dark-or-light/3974238027/ ]

Unfortunately I have seated tickets this time at the SECC. Should still be good though, as long as they play a bunch of the classics. It'll also be interesting to see if they've changed their show after such an immense 2005?!

Basicly just them being there will make it the gig of my dreams but I'm really really looking forward to hearing some songs off the first couple of albums live. Some halloween stuff would also be awesome ;)

I'm from Southampton.
I really hope they play Before The Labotomy as it really struck out to me, and relates to having been in Primary School with a bunch of nice people and then suddenly go to Secondary School with loads of retards. Also, I hope they run down the isles, as that would be radical to see them close up. Its gonna be my first time so yeah, its going to be amazing with them jumping around like monkeys!!

I will be going to both GreenDay gigs in Manchester, was only meant to be going to the Halloween bash but now I will be doubling it up two nights in a row in sunny ol Manchester. The arena is the best in the UK, so i'm expecting nothing short of a phenonenol performance both nights. As long as they play the majority of the old songs, and keep the 21st century Breakdown songs to a minimum, plenty of pyro, plenty of beer, and plenty of good lookin merch, that will be my night sorted.

ManchesterTwice[I havn't got a myspace, but this is my website]

I will be going to both GreenDay gigs in Manchester, was only meant to be going to the Halloween bash but now I will be doubling it up two nights in a row in sunny ol Manchester. The arena is the best in the UK, so i'm expecting nothing short of a phenonenol performance both nights. As long as they play the majority of the old songs, and keep the 21st century Breakdown songs to a minimum, plenty of pyro, plenty of beer, and plenty of good lookin merch, that will be my night sorted.

TWICE OVER!

Green Day

(from St Albans, Herts)

Yo, Kerrang!
Super super excited that I got tickets. Seeing them at the o2 on the 24th, and at the Birmingham NEC on the 27th. I saw them with my sister at the Milton Keynes bowl in 2005, which was a truly epic gig! I think i'm expecting the show to be even better than 2005, because it's been such a long time since they've been over here. I think the atmosphere is going to be electric and the music is going to be so loud, i won't be able to hear anything for a week after. Green Day are going to blow the place apart :) What'd make it my dream gig would be if they played lots of songs off of Nimrod, because that's my favorite Green Day album, and if they have an awesome support act. It'd also be my dream gig if i could grab a photography pass from one of the venues, but i don't think it's going to happen. (www.daisysmithphotographic.daportfolio.com) So, i can settle for Nimrod!

:)

I have been waiting for this day for 5 years and I don't think I could be more excited if I tried!
Just the fact they're going to be playing makes it a dream come true. Anything else on top of that is a bonus (:

Calling all Green Day Fans!!

Dear Kerrang

Me and my partner will be in attendance at the wonderful O2 arena gigs in London on the 23rd and 24th of October.

Have seen the band many times before, first time was in early 90's on the Dookie tour at Wolverhampton and the next night at the Astoria, last time was the Milton Keynes Bowl shows in 2005 where I was lucky enough to be interviewed and appeared on the "bullet in a bible" dvd release.

Having read the tour reviews of the US dates I pretty much know what the set list will be, but thats fine with me, being an "old git" more older tracks would have been nice but you've got to move with the times as the band has done with amazing results!!

A dream gig for me would be to be pulled up onto the stage to sing a song (as I cant play an instrument - but my vocals are good and I know ALL the words - lol) and/or to be able to meet the boys again, met them after the dookie dates in 1994, and as i've still got the same hairdo hopefully they would remember me!!

Cant wait for the shows, still get the same buzz after 1000's of gigs and many years of live music

Matt Dawe
London aged 41 (but still rocking!!)

I love you is not enough, I'm lost for words.

I'm going to see Green Day 3 times: Belfast, Dublin and Manchester. (I would have gone to more if I had the money!) I saw them in Dublin back in 2005 and it was absolutely mind blowing! I don't need to expect or hope for anything to happen this time around, because Green Day are so widely known for their spectacular live shows; so I already know before I go in that they are going to be just inexplicably amazing!!

I'm seeing them in Birmingham, 27th-literally counting down as I type!
It's my first time seeing them live, but I'm expecting a legendary show regardless-from what I've heard, they're brilliant live.
The thing that would make it better-than-epic for me would be if they covered Don't Stop Believing-me and my friend Jenny would approve of it!

Calling all Green Day fans!

Its finally here, ive been waiting 5 years for this moment! Im seeing them with my incredible girlfriend on October 30th in Manchester M.E.N. arena! Unfortuantly i could not get standing tickets, as they sold out in two minutes, and the website was running slowly. I think the dictionary is going to have to be changed, as the word EPIC is about to have a new meaning.

I managed to some how get tickets to both the October 27th and 28th shows at the Birmingham NEC.
It's my fist time seeing them live, and I think I might actually be in tears when they come on stage!
I can't wait, I'm planning on getting on stage with Billie Joe as well.
I've been instructed that I'm walking home if I don't kiss Billie Joe onstage if I get up, so fingers crossed it'll happen!

I am going to the London gig on Friday 23rd October, this will be the first time I am seeing them and I am soo excited as they are one of the bands that got me into good music so it's a dream to see them, I am expecting a theatre like performance that will capture every audience members attention. I know it's going to be an amazing show anyway but if they played good riddance (time of your life) and got every audience member singing would make it amazing!

I heard the gig they did at The National Bowl through my bedroom window (I live quite close), it was brilliant. Gahh, I'm excited, I'm expecting a lot of damn good stuff from their new album, and some old favourites. And the cherry on the cake would be a hug from Tre Cool.

I'm going on the 30th/31st at the M.E.N, haven't decided which one yet.

Could've seen them a few years ago but i'd not been to a gig then (age 10) so i thought i'd become permanently deaf from the p.a (because i was a normal kid)

I expect it to be amazing and it would be a dream gig if i got asked to play a song...although if they can see where i'm sitting from the stage, they deserve a high 5 :')

Nobody here cares about your opinion. As you can see this is for people who are going to the new tour dates, so if you don't like the new stuff you can take your pathetic insults and shove it.
The fact that you took the time to insult them is pretty pathetic.

its going to the same set that they have been touring in the states with, start off with bascially playing the whole of 21st C/B, with an encore of their hits.
i would see them if they were to do anything different. ive seen this band so much, probably even before half the kids here were even born. nothing what they used to be. shame really.

I'm going to see Green Day in Belfast and Dublin on the 20th and 21st. Green Day opened my eyes to real music when I was 10 and they've been my heroes ever since. I got standing tickets for Belfast and I'm expecting the best night of my life. I'm hoping for paper lanterns and 80 to be on the set list. I can't wait to see the best live band in the fucking world! Love, Shauna Rogz x x

1st November @ Wembley

My friend, Wombat, bought me tickets to the Wembley gig (1st Nov) for my birthday. I haven't seen them before but have loved them for so long. Best present ever... and Wombat is CLEARLY more amazing!

Should be a really good gig, going with about 4 friends and proper cant w8, never been to see Green day before but i love the new album.

One thing that is putting me off is the support by Prima Donna, they sound so pathetic, you'd think Green Day would of got millions of offers from miles better bands, so why go with a shitty little band that hardly anyone has herd of. :(

Green Day at the 02

Going to see them on the 23rd at the 02 and if it's anything like i saw the first time i saw them it's going to be one of the best nights of my life!

I was lucky enough to go see them for the first time when i was on holiday in Vancouver, Canada, earlier this year; got the setlist and everything from being on the barrier and i tell you, i couldn't have missed another opportunity to catch these guys live!

Green Day!

I'm seeing them in sheffield arena, and the M.E.N. arena.
They've been my favorite band for such a long time, but i've never been able to see them live as I live in the Isle of Man and have to pay a lot of money for a hotel and boat and train etc. I expect it to be the best concert i have ever been to and the best one i will ever go to. It would be my dream gig if they sing going to pasalacqua and I got to meet the band, that have made me so happy for so many years, after the gig.
I'm so friggin excited!!!

Green Day!

I'm going to see Green Day at the O2 Arena on the 24th October. I haven't seen them live before. I am expecting the gig to be enjoyable, with Billie Joe et al playing through tracks on their new album as well as playing some of their older songs. If I got picked out of the crowd at random to play Basket Case, it would be a dream gig!

first time seeing them!

So excited for the Manchester.

going with my fiancee Jane who is more excited than me, just worried she may run off with Billie Joe lol.

Big budget show is expecting playing most of the new album with a few of the classics

Dream gig would be for me and Jane to be able to meet them before or after the gig

I am so excited i managed to get a ticket. I woke up so early to order tickets for the O2 arena shows but it sold out so i waited online all day and saw they announced tickets for Wembley.
I expect the concert to be amazing as Green Day always put on an amazing show! I hope Billie Joe will get his bum out like he did on the Bullet In A Bible dvd! That would make my day :)

21st october

Going to see the lads on the 21st in Dublin.
Saw them before at Oxegen 05. Quite a while ago now haha.

Hopefully they still have the same energy they did when I last saw them and make it as fun to participate for the the audience as before. Should be brilliant.

If I got to play with them on stage or just got to go for a pint and chill with them afterwards. I'd say it'd be great craic. Been a fan since I was a kid and it'd be amazing to be able to hang out with musicians I've adored for so long.

Im seeing them in belfast on the 20th, i'm honestly so excited. iv loved them since i was in P5, which was about 9 years ago. they got me into the amazing music which is of course rock. i watched them on the MTV awards and i had a sort of panic attack (well it wasnt really a panic attack but you get the general idea. i really hope they preform a few of their older songs eg Basketcase etc.

BIRMINGHAM LG ARENA, WEDNESDAY 28th OCTOBER!

Hey Kerrang readers,

This is my FIRST Green Day gig ever so as you can imagine I'm pretty damn excited. I'm the opposite to most fans, because I got into them later on, and completely dig American Idiot and now 21st Century Breakdown, because of the bigger sound!

It's a special gig as I brought me and my friend tickets as a 21st birthday present, and we've always wanted to see them since 2004.

The 5 year wait is over, let's hope they play Jesus of Suburbia and we can kick off the moshpit action!

As for making it a dream gig, all I want to do is meet the band before the gig and get my picture with them, and the day will be complete!

I'm going on the 24th at the o2 and it's my first time seeing them ! I have had a countdown of the days since I got the tickets the minute they went on sale, only 20 more days too go !
There isn't much really that would make it the best gig ever, I'm just so overly happy too be seeing them; but if they got naked onstage again though that would make it the dream gig ! I'm not expecting anything though, I know it's going too be the best and I'm sure there is going to be a few surprises. leah; portsmouth :) x

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Ive been a fan of Green day ever since AI came out, I just remember seeing them on CDUK (Lol) and knew that were the best live band i had seen, and although i missed out on the Milton Keynes gigs, In the mean time, i bought all their back catologue and love every album they have made! When they announce this tour, i was willing to travel anywhere to see them, so decided to see them in Manchester 30th Oct. And bought a ticket for my sister. We cant wait! Its gonna be the best night of my life!!!!

Fuck where do I start?

- Have got tickets to the 24th October show at the 02, would also like to attend Wembley if I can get the funds together!

- Seen them 6 times before. 1st time was at Reading Festival 2001 when they made it impossible for Travis to follow them on! 2nd time was July 17th at Wembley Arena on the Shenanigans tour which was my best Green Day show so far as it was one of those 'inbetween studio album' shows where a band is promoting themselves rather than promoting an album which resulted in a set just jam-packed with a variety of rarely played songs to the old classics/set regulars, 3rd Time was Reading 2004 which thanks to old fiddy being bottled off beforehand resulted in a fucking mammoth set for Green Day! Saw them 3 more times on the American Idiot Tour, at Brixton Academy (my most intimate Green Day show!), the Brighton Centre (where I took my little Bro to break his Green Day cherry!) and one of the absolutely legendary shows at Milton Keynes (the second day) which was the closest to a Green Day Festival that I have been to!

- When I see them next at the 02 I'll most certainly be expecting as always the usual mega electric mix of beautiful 3-chord simplicity and truly perfect band-crowd chemistry and fucking off-the-scale entertainment value!

- For this to be a dream gig would depend on many one of these factors. For a start as a guitar player I shall be once again trying to get on that stage to play alongside them (have been fine-tuning my 'Jesus of Suburbia' of late!), to not do this wouldn't be a total loss to me because as anyone who has seen Green Day before will agree with me just being there feels like your a part of it! As far as songs go for a Dream Gig they could play any of their songs in any order and I'd be immensly happy, but if we're talking on the level of cream-your-pants "OH MY GOOOOOD I FUCKING LOOOOVE THIS SOOOONG!!!!" I'd go for 'one for the razorbacks', 'the judge's daughter', 'paper lanterns', 'scattered', 'haushinka', 'chump' and 'reject'. Oh and they'd just HAVE TO open with 'panic song'!

I could ramble on and on for days and days about everything else about Green Day that makes me so utterly happy (I really could!). But I think I've said enough lol!

All the best to all the Green Day virgins out there! You are in for one hell of a show!

green day

saw them at milton keynes bowl few years back, amazing show ! managed to get standing tickets for the o2 arena on the fri 23rd oct. cant wait, no one puts on a show like these guys. Cool to see them get the entire audience involved and revved up during the show which some bands just cannot manage to do to the extent that green day do. Hoping for the classics as well as some of their newer ones.
some special guests would be cool jus to give it that bit extra.

saw them years back at a bandstand thing when i was young and they were pretty unknown in this country, can't remember much from it except dancing about like a loon!

fast forward a fair few years and i saw them at reading festival 2004, awesome gig, extra long set due to 50 cent's bottle-ing, lots of cover versions and my mate getting taken out by billie-joe's water bottle mid set!

next saw them at the brighton centre for my birthday the following year, excellent set with classic songs and lots and lots of confetti.

best green day experience was while i was travelling round california 2 years ago and myself and my friend bumped into mike dirnt and billie-joe in a punk dive bar in las vegas!very random, they were there for a private party for a mate's clothing range launch and after being stopped by the only english girls in the bar, sat and chatted to us for ages about our trip and how the hell we recognised them!two of the nicest guys i've ever met (they say never meet your idols but these two are so humble and down to earth, genuine guys) only gutted tre was back in oakland at the time!

seeing them at the o2 with a lot of friends, very excited.hoping for a lot of classic song choices from the guys, i like their newer material but can't go wrong with a bit of longview and geek stink breath!i like it when they throw in random oldies like christie road, prosphetic head or stuart and the avenue so hopefully a few to keep the audience on their toes and remind the younger audience members of who green day really are :D

not sure what would make it the dream gig, the o2 is an enormo-drome so will have to battle to the front.smaller venues in future!
maybe meeting tre cool to finish the set off and buying back mike a beer!

Manchester 31st October

Going to the MEN on 31st of October. Pretty stoked to be seeing Green Day on Halloween night and looking forward to seeing what kind of show they put on this year.

It'll be the third time I've seen them live and will round of a Green Day themed year. A few weeks ago I saw one of the preview shows of American Idiot The Musical in Berkley, CA where as we know the band started life. It was awesome to have the opportunity to see the show, a great piece of theatre and a great warm up for seeing the real thing!

Read some internet murmurs that there could be a Foxboro Hot Tubs set? That would be pretty cool!

Glasgow 19th Of October

I'm going to see them in the SECC on the 19th of October.
This could be the best possible gig of my life!, I reckon the only way a Green Day show could get much Better, would be if I got standing, but that had sold out, by the time we got through on the phone. But I wasn't missing Green Day!.. No Waay!

I'm expecting to have an amazing night! With my favourite band playing live, playing a kick ass setlist!

What would make this a dream gig?, Firstly, If I somehow ended up in the standing area, also, if they performed as Foxoboro Hot Tubs. And Lastly, if I got to meet all 3 of the men in person! There is no possible way that a concert could get any better, if all 3 of those wishes came true in my opinion!

My biggest concern is the support act!! please i beg you! don't book Franz ferdinand or Kaiser chiefs it would ruin the night for me! The best possible act to support would be Blink 182 but i knw that's a big ask and very unlikely to happen but if it did it would be the best night of my life! I couldn't think of a better night! I could die the next day and be happy! I'm sure the stage show would be terrific, just make sure you get good support bands!!

I'm seeing them at the sheffield arena!
I've never seen them before and I was so chuffed after being in the queue for 3 hours to get standing.
I'm expecting an amazing night seeing my favourite band; and singing along to all the songs at the top of my lungs.
Being invited on stage to sing would be a dream come true; but it might not be for everyone else, since I sound like a cat getting strangled!

First time going to see Green Day after being a fan for nearly 5 years (not as long as some of the 'hardcore' fans but I do own all the albums :) ) fave songs are Redundant, All The Time aaaaand 1000 Hours.
Support act sounds okay but I'm goin' for Green Day- who isn't?! :D

GREEN DAY!

im goin to see them on tuesday 20th october in the odyssey in belfast. first time goin to see them so it'll be pretty epic!! and sayin as theyve helped me through a lot of shit since i started listening to them, i imagine its gonna be pretty special for me and probably everyone else they have helped. i think/hope they'll do a lot of pyrotechnic shit and all that jazz but what really make my dream come true is if they play a couple of their older songs like basket case or jesus of suburbia cuz, although they have their new album, their old songs are classic!!!

Last night on Earth...

If my last night on Earth (< see what I did? :P) was October 26th at Sheffield Arena, then I could die happy!
I'm a Green Day gig virgin, so my expectations are above and beyond! These guys don't know how to do anything badly - being in the same room, albeit a rather LARGE room! as them is just fantastic and as long as they play "Welcome to Paradise" and "Hitchin' a Ride", I'll be a happy girl!

Green Day at Wembley

I'm in Germany at the moment but I'm flying back to the UK especially to see Green Day play Wembley on November 1st. I'm so excited, I'm expecting this to be even bigger and better than when I saw them play Milton Keynes in 2005. Green Day will certainly be putting on a show, with lots of silly antics and getting everyone to rock out. The only thing that could make this gig even better is meeting the band backstage and seeing what they get up to in their soundcheck!

Green Day

I'm going to see Green Day in Belfast and Dublin on the 20th and 21st. Green Day opened my eyes to real music when I was 10 and they've been my heroes ever since. I got standing tickets for Belfast and I'm expecting the best night of my life. I'm hoping for paper lanterns and 80 to be on the set list. I can't wait to see the best live band in the fucking world! Love, Shauna Rogz x x

Green Day On Halloween Spppookkyy

I have never seen Green Day before, i wanted to go to the American Idiot tour but it was already sold out!
I'm so excited that it's on halloween because American's take it really seriously so i think it will be a night where they dress up and have fun!
It would become a dream gig if I got dragged on stage! Or managed to somehow get into the sound check gig, i think it will be a really fun night though with all spooky mischeif going on!! XX

30th October :D

I'm annoyed I couldn't get tickets for the show on halloween, but I already had plans... hopefully the 30th will be just as good lol!

Someone else going better dress up in their halloween stuff too.

no, i've never seen green day before. they're such international superstars, i'm expecting this to be the best gig - the best i've ever been to, and the best i'll ever go to. with the band's experience, evidently brings an ever-amazing show, with the members getting the crowd involved. this pretty much is my dream gig, after the american idiot tour selling out so rapidly years back, and to make this gig even more ace, would be for a cover of a pop song but completely rockkk up green day style like we know they do. ;D
