This Week's Essential Tracks!

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES, YOUNGBLOOD (LET IT OUT)
Breezy, poppy, and with a chorus the size of the moon, them Welsh boyos have done it again. And, as usual, after the second listen, it’s fully stuck in your brain.

RAMMSTEIN, PUSSY
You may get asked what the hell you’re looking at if you get caught watching Pussy’s bizarre, X-rated video. We won’t spoil the surprise, but it’s Rammstein, and the song’s called Pussy, so it’s bound to make you feel a bit… grubby.

LOSTPROPHETS, IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD BUT I CAN SEE IT FROM HERE
Only a band as gifted in the massive chorus department as Lostprophets could turn such a mouthful of words as that title into a stadium-sized singalong. Which they’ve done here. The clever bastards.

COBRA STARSHIP, GOOD GIRLS GO BAD
With guest vocals from Gossip Girls’ Leighton Meester, this is an annoyingly boptastic bit of electro rock set to get any hearty party, er, starty.

THE HICKEY UNDERWORLD, BLONDE FIRE
Like Cobra Starship, The Hickey Underworld are more electro than the National Grid. And, like Cobra Starship, if your arse doesn’t shake to this, you could be dead.

CONVERGE, AXE TO FALL
Another noisy treat from Converge's forthcoming new record of the same name. You won't find this much energy in a nuclear reactor.

SHINEDOWN, IF YOU ONLY KNEW
Shinedown know what makes rock music work. What, you say? Simplicity, big riffs and choruses that sound great bellowed out by enormous crowds. Three boxes which this ticks, incidentally.

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, CAPTAINS OF INDUSTRY
One of the new tracks from their recent Your History Is Mine collection, here FFAF serve up another dose of their shining rock. Plus, it’s got a chorus that’s slippery and catchy. Smashing.

CANCER BATS, SABOTAGE
Everybody loves Cancer Bats, and everybody loves Beastie Boys’ classic, Sabotage. Put the two together and what do you get? Something bloody marvellous, that’s what.

MEGADETH, 1,320
We can't get enough of Megadeth's new record. Here's another very riffy reason why. Wahey!

Its not in a top 10 order.
FFAF have sounded heavy before, captains of industry is probably the best song they have done since juneau all those years ago. Glad they are remembering what made them better than other bands in the first place; not concept albums about fishing
