Corey Taylor is probably best known for wearing a mask that would send most children running home to their parents, and his guttural vocals that have helped to earn him and his band Slipknot three Top 10 albums.
His break came after he was approached by Slipknot members and asked to join the band whilst he was working in an ‘adult entertainment’ shop, whilst also still performing with his other band Stone Sour. Little did he know at the time that he would be joining one of the soon-to-be biggest metal bands of the 21st Century so far. It’s not all been plain-sailing for Corey though, with having to move around constantly as a child ultimately leading to a nasty battle with drugs and alcoholism which left him feeling suicidal.
