Muse will play two hometown shows at The Den in Teignmouth on September 4 and 5.
Rumours of the shows hit the internet earlier this month after local council officials and police objected to the expected increase of traffic, crime and of course sound levels.
However following a meeting at Teignbridge Council yesterday (August 17) which was bassist Chris Wolstenholme attended, the gigs were given the green light.
"I am chuffed to bits the application has been granted," said Wolstenholme. "We thought that it would be great to do something on The Den, rather than the typical London gig or radio session. I think it will be a proud moment for us and it will show people what we have been doing for the last 12 years."
Tickets will go on sale on Friday (August 21) at 9AM from www.aloud.com.
Muse's new album, The Resistance, will follow on September 14.
