The List...

"Your Votes Are In"
This will be... intresting.
Let me guess, BMTH or Metro Station will be number one.
Or just an overly predictable Slipknot to please everyone.

No It definitely wasn't. If you listen to the album as a whole it's exceptionally good, what with all the interludes and the intricacies of the songs, it's really much more than a pop album.

The 50 Best Albums...!

An interesting list. The worst Alkaline Trio album, the worst Limp Bizkit album, the worst Dillinger Escape Plan album and a plethora of radio-friendly, mainstream pop shit from the likes of Green Day and MCR. Scott Ian of Anthrax once described old-school 80s metallers as 'the first generation of rock fans to be crazier than our kids'. Judging by this list, he was absolutely spot on. No mention of Ulver's 'Perdition City', Electric Wizard's 'Dopethrone' or Napalm Death's 'Enemy of the Music Business'. Give it five more years and if your present body of readers haven't already moved on to another 'scene' as they are prone to do, I'm sure some shit like Metro Station will be topping this list. God help the metal world.

The Top 50 Albums

I cannot believe that not one Iron Maiden album from 2000 onwards got in there. they are legends, and personally I do not think that Muse, MCR and Green Day should have been that high up.

I think Green Day's 'American Idiot' and My Chemical Romance's 'The black parade' deserve a mention on that list. As those albums had good concept's. They were unique. Had their own style. Even if u didn't understand it.

Heh heh.

Overall...

I don't think the list is THAT awful. I mean sure, it would have been nice to see some less well known bands like Celldweller or D'espairsRay, feels a little like the "Bestsellers of rock / metal albums of the 00s" list, but it could have been much worse.

As much as people moan, I was glad to see P!ATD's debut on there, I was a lil dissapointed Nine Inch Nails JUST about missed out on the top 20 (and they have made better albums than With_Teeth this decade...).

But at least MetroStation where not on there *shudders in disgust at the very thought* Oh, and Glassjaw + Alexisonfire deserved higher slots than Paramore & Limp Bizkit.

The List

How predictable.. Why are Green Day so... liked? I understand, even though i don't agree with it, that American Idiot was a best selling album, and it had many fans, incl. me, when i was 8. Which should show something about that album.. All these Kerrang! readers complain whenever they see anything about Paramore or MCR but then they go and vote for that damn pop album...

No New Found Glory? How can Panic! At The Disco be on the list, but not one of the pioneers of pop punk? Panic!'s album (and everything the do) is mediocre... And i'm not being a dumb closed minded person, i accept that their music is attractive to people and i can understand why...

Riot! shouldn't have been on that list... I love Paramore, but if any Paramore album should be on it shoulda been All We Know Is Falling, which was a lot more rocky...

What about...
Napalm Death,
H20,
Madball,
Aiden,
The Ghost Of A Thousand,
and especially, mewithoutYou?
Who are fantastic...

But no, everyone chooses to big up Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot, and all that shit...
Slipknot did NOT deserve to be on the list so much...
RANT OVER! :)

Okay, let me get this staight, gabbagabbahey, you say you liked American Idiot when you were 8. It came out in 2004. 5 years ago. So that makes you what? 13 years old? Shut the fuck up. What do -you- know about music? New Found Glory are complete SHIT and have no talent whatsoever. & are you aware they opened up for Green Day for the American Idiot tour in Canada? & Aiden..... Seriously...You have that on your little list? Bullshit emo whiny crap that sounds like every other whiny band on the planet. They're not artist they're a bunch of people playing instruments. There's nothing that makes them unique. They're not making -music-, they're making songs. Open your mind you little shit. Hey, at least we can agree on Paramore...

WAIT A FUCKING SECOND SLIPKNOT NOT DESVERE TO BE ON THE LIST?! Have you no idea the genius that is Corey Taylor? The pure beauty of his soul he translates into music? Slipknot is full of 9 VERY talented musicians. Such as Joey Jordison. Hello, Murder Dolls. Of course your simple pathetic mind probably hasn't heard of them.

The list was quite good...

30 seconds to mars should of been number 1 but they came 4 so thats still good.

Otheres i was glad to see on the list were .....

Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (my personal favorite)
System Of A Down -Toxicity
Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil
Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
Blink 182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket
Enter Shikari- Take to the Skies
Weezer - The Green Album
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American

there was quite a few bands on the list that shouldent of been there but overall i think it was a good list.

List wasn't as bad as I thought. Sure, American Idiot DID come on top, but hey, Relationship of Command, Crisis, Jane Doe, Origin of Symmetry, Lateralus and Worship and Tribute got in

A better idea would be to do a similar poll with the staff members of Kerrang voting instead

Another idea would be to do a Kerrang Awards where OUR VOTES ACTUALLY FUCKING COUNT

SUP SPECIAL K!! I jsut wanted to join in on the massive Metro Station debate, i bloody love them tbh and yeah it annoys me when people say there crap but im SO SO pleased you put them in your magazine because no body else does and they deserve to be somewhere. I just wish people that didnt like them would stop spending there time complianing when they could just ignore it and move onto looking for the next best band.
SO THANK YOU SO MUCH! and BTW on the Shaun White advertisement you put two Marylin Manson K! covers on it MADE ME GIGGLE!

Sucks

I read it and I mean, My Chemical Romance are good and everything but why do people make them the centre of their lives, they were number 5!!! And no sign of The Used, AC/DC, The Offspring and Red Hot Chili Peppers, which sucked majorly hard. Not too bad that American Idiot was number one, there was no doubt they were gonna win, Kerrang is obsesed with them and MCR.

Steel Panther and posters.

Don't get me wrong here, Kerrang! rocks! But why is there so much of the band "steel Panther" in it? they're just sexist idiots who think they're rock stars. Ugh, they're so up their own arses! Anyway, rant over...I think there needs to be a bigger variety of posters too. Like Evanescence AFI and The Rasmus.

The list wasn't that bad at all;
it was a good mix of mainstream and non mainstream.

It's a shame Billy Talent weren't anywhere on the list for any of their albums, and I think suicide season should have been on.

But pretty happy American idiot won;
I probably wouldn't be on this website if I hadn't listened to american idiot x)

Get over it.

I wish people would just get over the fact that Metro Station occasionally pop up in Kerrang! This week someone has complained that they've been put on this years album. Why don't you find something else to complain about that people aren't sick of reading about. I've lost count of the number of people who have written about Metro Station being in the magazine. I don't know if you've noticed but stuff like the Prodigy is in all the time, I'd hardly call them rock anymore would you?

THE RETOX GIG!!!

The Retox supporting Glen Matlock
The Water Rats, Kings Cross
Monday 3rd August 2009

"Finally, Summer 2009 saw the return of Guildford's finest four, The Retox. A band that has had the potential and dedicated fan base from day one. And they just get better and better.
On Monday London’s Water Rats had the privilege of our local heroes gracing their stage in support of Glen Matlock. A legend in his own right, but the general feeling that night was that The Retox were the real stars and without doubt, stole the show. With only 30 minutes to show London what they're made of, they exceeded expectations just after the first song.
Playing old favourites like Taste the Witches and Empty To Me got the crowd thirsty for more. With their hard rock sound, The Retox consistently owned the stage. They are a band that always pumps out pure adrenaline whenever they play live, and The Water Rats was no exception. What is great about them is they manage to get members of the crowd rocking out who have never heard of them before.
As each song finished and a new one started, the crowd grew bigger whilst moving nearer and nearer towards the stage. Proof that the band were enticing the crowd in with their funk rock sound. For a local band from Guildford, their stage presence is spellbinding. These guys were born for rock'n' roll!
The chemistry between all four members is unquestionable when they are playing. It is clear from down in the crowd that the guys feed off of each other’s passion and that’s what the fans love.
With news and no surprise that the Water Rats have demanded they return again and again, The Retox have definitely proved their worth to London. This is only the beginning of bigger and better things to come in the land of The Retox."

Hope you all like my review, this band is awesome. chk em out on myspace!!

get my review in k

i was reading this weeks kerrang reviews and it sez on pg 20 to send in your own reviews, well i felt that these guys are just what you need and it seems im not the only one either, here goes...

What a way to start the week Monday night, sex pistols glen matlock and the retox? Its not often a supporting band pulls a bigger crowd then the headliner!!! Not only completely blowing the other support acts off the stage the retox gave it so hard that the crowd became easily board with glen matlocks acoustic mellow dramatic performance.
Their style in sound is just what I needed ,
The bass was funky and I loved how the front man pulled everyone into the lair of the water rats with his overwhelming need to rock the crowd. I left the rats talking and wanting to know who these guys are and chuffed to bits that they were outside giving away free cds.

please can we have a retox interview!!!

50 Greatest albums my A**!

I was excited to read the issue - 50 greatest albums of the 20th century. However i almost threw up when i saw that NICKELBACK - ALL THE RIGHT REASONS WAS NOT IN THERE! It is the single greatest album of all time. They made five videoes of the album and there is eight singels of it. It should at least reach the top three.

I hope to see All thr right reasons much higher next time, kerrang.

System of a down

After searching and searching for a copy of this weeks Kerrang! it warmed my heart to see that 8 years on, people still care enough about System of a down to vote Toxicity the sixth best album of the 21st century. I do agree that its crap that great bands like Maiden and the Chili peppers have been missed off but thanks to everyone who voted for system!

Nickelback and Evanescence

Listan Kerrang, they needs to be more nickelback and evanescence posters. Kerrang is my favourote rock mag but the posters are slightly dissapointing. I hope this coment gets taking seriously because many people will agree with me.

#1 spot belongs too....

I totally thought that the #1 spot was meant for Avenged Sevenfold.
Metallica, A7X, and Pantera???
Damn, I would have liked to have seen them fight over the #1 spot.
. . .but who would win?

Killswitch.

I am endlessly pleased that Kilswitch are included in this list even though I know the only reason they're in is because they've been in the spotlight alot the pat few months. Shame.

Also: Bullets > TBP + Three Cheers.

mh?

it just shows what a useless list this is when the blackening by machine head is not on it. probably one of the best albums since master of puppets. its a shame that this used to be a good magazine... thats why i converted to metal hammer!

In the trash where they belong^

Jane Doe should be much much higher. calling bands like Trivium and Avenged Sevenfold important is just absurd.
