If anyone even remembers Steel Panther in 15 years time, or if they produce a single song of any merit then I will eat my hat.

Steel Panther are a flash in the pan, one trick pony who everyone will be bored of in no time.

OCS have a fantastic back-catalogue and have been consistantly popular for over a decade.

Oasis is the worst band to ever live!

These guys sound nothing like the No-talent Hacks called 'Oasis'. Steel Panther actually knows how to play music and can sing on key. Noel and Liam are the luckiest guys in music and proof you don't have to have appeal or talent to be make it in the Uk as "musicians"

If that's the case why did it sell out in less than 4 minutes then?
They're obvisouly doing something right if they've been upgraded to bigger venues on what will only be their second trip to the UK :P

Like I said - flash in the pan. They're a novelty. Novelties soon wear off.

A fool and his money are easilly parted, and only fools could possibly like this shit - that explains why they sold so many tickets.

What they're doing right is cashing in on how retarded the general public are.

I like OCS - so I visit their website. They aren't my favourite band, nor is Indie my favourite genre of music, but I still like them and appreciate what they've accomplished.

My favourite bands are punk and rock, so I visit Kerrang as well... it's not really that difficult to work out.

OCS etc

No surprise that someone who reads Kerrang is into OCS, Kerrang stopped being a true metal mag years ago. Being of an age when we used to read Sounds and then Kerrang when it started, i now only flick through it in the newsagents. When a metal mag starts to support dance bands (prodigy etc) it is a lost cause, Kerrang is a fashion mag now. I remember seing Anvil back in 83, the only reason they appeared in Kerrang who ignore all old bands was due to the press coverage of the excellant movie.
Death to all but metal!!!!

Why is it that I can't *possibly* like OCS as well as metal, punk and rock?

He talks about how shit Kerrang is now, because it's a "fashion mag", yet in the same post quotes Steel Panther - a trendy parody band who've been around for five minutes and won't be for much longer who it's clearly "cool" to like now.

Death to all but metal, punk, rock, blues, indie, hip hop, ska, hardcore...

I like the way you think you indie are wankers when you listen to steel panther, they sold out in four minutes cause they're playing four shows in small venues. I bet they haven't sold 5,000 tickets on this tour. If there so big make them tour the whole country with about 15 venues and see if they sell them out.
Indie isn't as bad as this ever so predictable emo stage Kerrang! is in right now so get over yourself and listen to bands with some talent not just hair, pussies.

I will admit, Steel Panther tick all the right boxes for being comedial and also for being idiots. But its a fashion that people are into. Take 'The Bloodhound Gang' for instance, they are a paraody band but yet they are extremely popular, so give Steel Panther a break and lighten up a bit, have a laugh about everything :)

Dear Mr OCS

I use the quote "Death to all but Metal" for a point as it says it all. Metal is not a fashion statement for me but a way of life and has been ever since i first heard Motorhead's On Parole and Kiss Alive. The first gig i ever saw was Judas Priest on the British Steel tour at the Edinburgh Odeon in March 1980 with a young Iron Maiden as support, from then on it was metal all the way and some 700 plus gigs later i still travel the metal path. Metal has never let me down and has given me some of the best times of my life along with my kids being born, you are either in it for the long run or your not, I will be cremated in my leather jacket which i bought for £10 back in 79.
