Wentz says Fall Out Boy are about to split...

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz told fans during an online Twitter chat earlier this week that the band’s latest album, Foile A Deux, may well be their last.

When asked by one fan “Can we expect a new FOB CD next year?” Wentzy replied:

“I'm not sure. This may be the swan song. But we might have another in us. We'll see.”

However the bassist is now trying to back peddle and in an interview with MTV he said:

"No, we're not calling it quits, but we've no future album plans right now. We can't quit, we're waiting to get fired.

"There aren't any new Fall Out Boy songs because we don't write for the sake of it,” he added. “We will stop doing Fall Out Boy when it stops being fun."

OMG. Fall out boy are one of the greatest bands ever!!!

And to be fair,Dingo, Pete is a dick. I remember back in march, queing up for 4 hours in pouring rain while andy, patrick and joe signed autographs. Incedentally, pete was sat in the bus about 10 metres away playing xbox and occasionaly waving at the crowd.

Grr.

Personally, I'm a fan of Fall Out Boy, so obviously don't want them to end it any time soon.

But seriously, everyone saying "split up", why should they? You don't like, or listen to, the music in the first place, so no music from them actually shouldn't affect you at all. You're just getting yourselves involved, then you moan about how awful FOB are.

I really do not think you're the judge of "embarassments to the music industry" thankyou. It's called an OPINION, and you should realise that not everyone wants to be rude all the time, and not everyone agrees with you.

Just because a band achieves success, does not make them awful. Go out and make an album yourself, then call them crap again. As for their live performances: yeah, they've been bad, but the fact remains that they've vastly improved in recent years, and play better than many other bands do live.

And obviously you do "give a crap" because you're taking the time to hurl insults at me.

Feel free to have a go again, because my views on FOB won't change.

Jesus. If you don't like FOB, don't comment! I happen to be a fan of FOB, along with many other bands. I don't restrain myself to a single genre, therefore am open minded about all music types. FOB, I love. I would be devastated if they broke up. To be perfectly honest, I think that FOB haters should just come to terms with the fact that Kerrang caters for everyone, not just themselves.

Well, Fall Out Boy is one of my favorite bands and I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but they are going to split some day, and yes it will be sad but what I'm wondering is what are they going to do after they have? Something to do with music still or live as normal people?

WHY would they release another album after the train wreck that was 'Foile A Deux' ? seriously if they did release another alum it would just be another set of meaningless stupid songs that most people would hate. so why bother?Fall out boy already have a couple of good hits under there belt and i dont think they will get many more.

It is a clear indication of the quality of the band when you read the quality of their fans' posts.

How is it then that I know of many Fall Out Boy fans who actually do type correctly, and fans of other bands, such as Slipknot, Metallica and so on, who type exactly how you just described?

Let me assure you that I'm not one of your "many fans", by the way.

And as for your last point, there are a great deal of twelve year olds who actually are more open minded, accepting, and fair than you appear to ever be, so please re-evaluate your so called "facts", thankyou.

Well yeah i have a mental age of 12. But oh well.

Anywhosits on to Fall Out Boy. It would be a shame if they split but they've had a good run. They've got loads of fans, mainly 13 year old teenies.

I started listening to these guy when i was like 10. And they got me in to this sort of music, im not saying what my current favorite bands are because i know i will just get slated. But yeah that's you own opinion. Oh fuck it actually, Madina Lake & Fightstar que the gay and eyebrow jokes.

Anyway, Fall Out Boy are a good band, regardless of what some people say, they have made it to be one of the biggest bands around so like yeah, further than you? I think so.

Anyway, Fall Out Boy are a good band, regardless of what some people say, they have made it to be one of the biggest bands around so like yeah, further than you? I think so.

and fall out boy cant get fired cus of decaydance, pete cant fire himself lol and def jam wont fire them either cus they are too good at wt they do. the worst that can happen is that they take a break like green day did untill they get some new material to work with.

Get a grip, what you are saying is vile and disgusting and shows the unethical nature of music fans these days. You should be ashamed. UNETHICAL add that one to your Metalica dictionary!

p.s Not all Fob fans are "faggs" or "emo crap". Fall Out Boy are my FAVOURITE band who I have seen. However I have also seen and like SLIPKNOT. I will leave you and your clearly superior mental age to figure that one out.

Interesting.

I'm glad to here they aren't defiantly splitting up, because it would be a shame. I think it a disgrace that some people are wishing pete wentz dead. Ok, you may not be his biggest fan, but respect the guy at least.... Nobody deserves to die, and to say you wished he died instead of Michael Jackson i wrong too. Michael Jackson of all people did not deserve to die, but if you watch VH1's tribute to Michael Jackson, you would have heard petes phone call to them, with his condolences towards the sad loss, in what he said was 'the loss of the last great legend' therefore he does not consider himself to be a legend as some comments seem to be saying by saying he's so full of him self. This topic deserves to be deleted because the majority of these comments are so damned rude and offensive. And if they do split up, is it any wonder, because from this article it looks like they are really hated, which is not true due to several sell outs. The thing is, to these people who say things like please split up, it would be the greatest day in music history etc. If we insulted the bands or artist you aspire to be like, or respect you'd have something to say about. Now please stop insulting Fall Out Boy, because they can't be that bad they've won enough awards played enough gigs to prove that. Ok a lot of there fans are screaming girls, but weren't fans of the legendary beatles and jackson 5, also screaming girls? But some of these comments are so rude, and there is one that implies he is threatening to kill pete, which I'm pretty sure is an offense in some part of the worlds, do instead of being jealous, please spend your time trying to get a record deal and stop slagging of other bands just because it's not something you listen to. And even if pete wentz is gay, that's not wrong, whats wrong is homophobia.

they really should call it a day, after cork tree it went down hill dont get me wrong there was a few ok songs on infiny on high but after that they pritty much failed and seem to have nothing more to offer the music industary. if they give up now they will be remembered (possibly) but if they make another shit album most people will turn against them. neways most people only listen to them because of pete wentz who really isnt that nice
