The Kerrang! Awards are go!

The biggest, the best and the most outrageous of all rock 'n' roll awards ceremonies is set to return to a top secret location in London on August 3, and you could be there!

Renowned the world over for its riotess guests, chaotic shenanigans, copious amounts of alcohol and all-round Hell-raising, the Kerrang! Awards are the number one date in any self-respecting rock star's calendar. However, the only way your favourite stars will get to go to the Kerrang! Awards - and be in with a chance of walking away with one of our much coveted K! trophies - is if you vote for them!

"Over the past 12 months there have been countless stories in the mainstream media claiming that 'Rock is back', but Kerrang! readers know that rock never actually went away," says Kerrang! editor Paul Brannigan. "The 2009 K! Awards is your chance to tell us what has really rocked your world this past year.

"It's going to be an incredible summer for rock fans and it'll be an even better summer for the lucky reader that gets to party with us and the biggest stars on the planet on August 3," Brannigan adds. "You know what to do..."

Kerrang! Readers will be able to vote in the eight categories below, with a further five awards - Hall Of Fame, Spirit Of Independence, Inspiration Award, Icon Award and Classic Songwriter - being awarded by the K! judging panel.

The categories are as follows:

Best British Newcomer (presented by Relentless Energy Drink)
Best International Newcomer (presented by Criminal Damage)
Best Live Band
Best Single
Best Video
Best Album (presented by My Rock City)
Best British Band (presented by Roadrunner Records)
Best International Band
