The Burning Question 09/06/2008

This week's Burning Question:

WHITESNAKE, POISON AND JOURNEY ARE AMONG ARTISTS SET TO HAVE THEIR MUSIC FEATURED IN AN UPCOMING BIG SCREEN ADAPTATION OF THE BROADWAY MUSICAL ROCK OF AGES. WHICH OTHER BAND’S HISTORY IS WORTHY OF THE HOLLYWOOD TREATMENT?

Post your comments below and you could appear in next week's Kerrang! magazine.

Please remember to include a link to your MySpace profile so that, if we use your response, we can print a picture of you.

I think a film based on the story of Bring Me The Horizon, because hopefully it would ruin the band, forcing them to...err

and I'm stunned that one of the few places in mass media that rock fans can be united still has 'mindless idiots' slagging off other fans. I don't reckon the story of bring me the horizon would ruin them, they already ruin themselves by recording those hideous wretching pig noises and calling it music. The story of Aiden would be interesting considering wil's past which you never hear that much detail about...... Poison should be good though! Although Crue would be better.

Blink 182 should so be turned into a screen adaptation, they've been through so much together and I really think it's great how they've got back together. All of their career should be on the screen, even their careers away from Blink.

I'd say... either Iron Maiden or Metallica... They are both such great bands, and to see how much they've accomplished from when they'd started, it's just truly amazing, and I'm totally stoked for those guys. I feel that theu defonatley are worthy enough for the treatment.

Nirvana! Kids of today still listen and look up to Nirvana; Kurt cobain is still a hero to many. there are kids that are 16 still wearing Nirvana tops and were only 2 when Kurt died. Lets face it, Nirvana's defined music today. So They are the ones that truly deserve it....

All their albums are insanely amazing and they deserve this probably more than any other band there ever has been.

Kill Hannah! They've had loads of new members, one died, the bands name refers to Mat's ex girlfriend, a tour bus fire, 3 epic CDs and god knows how many EPs. Plus, they've been going 15 years, they deserve some major limelight. God, that film'd be immense. (:

Burning Question.

I don't think they should do the history of bands, I think they should do a movie predicting their futures. For example, Marylin Manson could suffer a major head injury, suffers severe amnesia and starts life again as a rapper, but then dies by drowning in the kiddies' pool at the local swimming baths. Tragic.

My Chemical Romance has a great history and a film to show this would be great. None of the band were born with a silver spoon in their mouth but just look at them now xox

It would be amazing to have a film on MCR. I mean, all of those guys were outsiders who were picked on, etc. Gerard got hooked on pills, cocaine, and alcohol, never really was the most attractive dude, and all of the rest of MCR were the same way- excluding the pills and cocaine. Then they come and create this life changing band that saved THOUSANDS of lives and made amazing songs. Seriously. They went from rock bottom, soaked in alcohol, to heros of kids. They haven't even been recognized for their actions. If that was made into a film, it would rock.

If its that bad why are you even on this website.
Kerrang have a wide audience.... hence why both heavy metal bands and pop-punk bands are gettin mentioned.
Me personally, i wouldnt want to see a broadway musical about old rock bands but meh.

MCR or Green Day, or god knows how many of these lame bands you feature.

But it has to be a snuff movie.

And slightly off topic, the fact they're making a movie based on the events in Norway in 1993 is just nauseating. I assume they've been in touch with Kerrang journalists about writing the screenplay.

With hits such as Barbie girl and Doctor Jones they surely are one of the most influential pop groups of all time.

There are so many bands to choose from but I'm going to say Def Leppard. They are a band that have emerged through the tragedies of Rick Allen losing his arm and yet still playing drums 25 years on, and of losing Steve Clark. And in between all this was the greatest album they produced... Hysteria.

My Chemical Romance or AC/DC -
My Chem because there highly theatrical anyway and you could definatly base a theme round the songs
& AC/DC because well there just ledgends of rock & you could definatly have a fun day in the life of AC/DC

Green Day, Kill Hannah or HIM. They're very different, but they have in common a charismatic frontman who leaves no one feeling indifferent, a long career full of anecdotes and difficulties and many things to say, of course.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson is one of the bravest men in the world because his last album was sooo dissed and for him to come back taking the risk of his new album being dissed. Manson is also an very down to earth guy as far as im concerned he has his ups and downs, heartbreaks and letdowns but he always has fun aswell with twiggy (also a great man) two fun men who write awesome music. So all you haters out there f*** you!

Gackt should clearly have a movie about him. All his propaganda and stories he told us in his biography would make an interesting movie.
Like him almost drowning when he was a kid and as a result he can hear the frequency of UV lights
[i shit you not, the man said that himself]

OH then there's the whole...he's a vampire thing.
So...yeah, interesting story all around.

Prong

I've just been to see Prong at Rock City in Nottingham and they would deserve to be in the broadway thing because they've been going since before I was born and it takes a special fan to get their music. At one point they were big but now they haven't had the recognition they deserve. To me,they're like Anvil and what they had to go through so yeah let Prong have the awesomeness they deserve! from tishtash in Barnsley

Not MCR. They already have Life on the Murder Scene to tell us everything we'd ever want to know about them.

I think the Misfits would be epic. One of the oldest and most influential punk bands still going, with the departure of Danzig, new singer and almost 30 years of pure GENIUS music it's definitely be a good watch.

Definitely Green Day, they've been about for over twenty years, and they are one of the most amazing and inspirational bands to ever hit the music industry, Their history is amazing, how much they've been through and their music changing and still being brilliant, it's amazing.
