Despite suing internet file sharing company Napster in 2000 over users illegally sharing his band's albums online, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has admitted that he recently downloaded Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic, illegally!
"I figured if there is anybody that has a right to download Death Magnetic for free, it's me," Ulrich told VH1s That Metal Show. "I sat there one night at my house with about six of my friends and a bottle of wine. We found it - this was like two or three days after Death Magnetic leaked. I was like, 'You know what? I've gotta try this.' So we sat there, and thirty minutes later, I had Death Magnetic in my computer. It was kind of bizarre."
Metallica are currently on tour in the UK and will return in the summer to play the Sonisphere festival at Knebworth on August 1 and 2.
