Ever wondered what Metallica get up to over the Christmas period?
Is Lars Ulrich a dab hand at decorating Christmas trees? Does Kirk Hammett like to dress up as Santa? Does Robert Trujillo go carol singing? Or is James Hetfiled a budding Gordon Ramsay slaving over a hot stove?
Well, we don't know the answer to the first three, but what we can tell you is that James Hetfield, alas, doesn't set foot in the kitchen of his San Francisco home on December 25.
"I don't do the cooking," he told Kerrang! "I just do the carving and take all the credit [laughs]. It's pretty good fun."
"The wife will be in the kitchen for 10 hours on Thanksgiving or Christmas, then the kids sit down, shovel it all back and say, 'Eurgh, this is terrible!'," he adds. "It's no wonder that the holidays are the most stressful time of the year!," he adds. "Families get together and remember exactly why it is that they live apart."
