The Burning Question 19/11/2008

This week's Burning Question:

AN ASDA IN LANCASHIRE SPARKED OUTRAGE WHEN RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE'S KILLING IN THE NAME WAS PLAYED LOUDLY IN THE STORE, TREATING CUSTOMERS TO 16 USES OF THE WORD FUCK.

WHAT'S THE STRANGEST SONG YOU'VE HEARD IN YOUR LOCAL SUPERMARKET?

Post your comments below and you could appear in next week's Kerrang! magazine.

Please remember to include a link to your MySpace profile so that, if we use your response, we can print a picture of you.

Well not at a supermarket - but they had Frankie's "F.U.R.B." on at my cousins 7th birthday party.

"Well guess what yo, your sex was WHACK!"

I was more shocked that most of the kids there knew the words.

Its not a strange song but it felt like a strange situation when i heard faintly Psychosocial by Slipknot in Superdrug the other day. They play a bit of Panic (!) At The Disco in there as well. In fact theres quite a few good tracks i can recall hearing in good old Superdrug.

Please You'll Will Hear More Swear Words Walking Down Your Local High Street On A Saturday Than Are In ANY Song. Personally I Would have Loved It, I Hate The Irritating Bleep That Censors Swear Words.

The best one has to be Gay Bar in the middle of HMV. I know it's not the most exotic of places to hear it, but it was funny at the amount of people who was singing and dancing around the store.

This isn't about the song but the band: I was in the waiting room of a doctor's surgery once and they were playing The Cure. How apt. I bet the staff thought they were right jokesters.

I once heard a song in which a woman sang about her boobs for the entire time. Quite catchy though..

Hahaha!

That's awesome!
I bet the oldies in there weren't expecting to hear such a song like that >=]

Whoever put it on the player clearly has TASTE (Y)

I wouldn't say it's strange but, they have some awesome songs playing in Gamestation in Inverness, the guys in there love Coheed And Cambria, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc :D

Hmm... Well the strangest thing i ever heard was about 3 years ago in ASDA Portsmouth. People were just going about their busniss until a song started over the tannoy that really spooked everyone. People started laughing and kids jumping around. Even an old woman fell over. It was like going into the twilight zone. The song was MR BLOBBY! Fuckin wierd!!!!!

Lol!

I can't say I know what the weirdest/most disturbing song I have ever heard played in a supermarket is but everyone has said 'fuck' at least once in their lifetime! When you stub your toe you don't shout out 'fiddlesticks!' or anything shitty like that! It just doesn't express the pain! lol!
ANyway I would hae loved to be in that Asda store anyway...good on them!

It has to be the time i heard all of Hate Crew Deathroll in Tesco's. I was with my mum and Needled 24/7 started up...I made her stay in there for the whole album just so i could sing along...it's so true that it's so much better to listen to music when you know that people are looking at you funny but you just don't care...anyways THAT MADE MY WEEK...I LOVE CHILDREN OF BODOM...

I was in a Morrisons when the Yogi Bear song came on randomly. Of course kids thought it was hilarious. I found the parents faces absolutely piss funny.

Also at a tescos - Neurotic Fish - They're coming to take me away' came on and I was mortified as it scared crap out of me.
