Enter Shikari added to Halloween bill!

On Saturday November 1, Pendulum (El Hornet and MC Verse) will be DJing as the headline act as part of The Crossfire Halloween Massacre 2008, in association with Kerrang!.

Kerrang! can now exclusively announce that Enter Shikari (going by their DJ names Rout and Sgt Rolfy) will also be joining the deck-spinning bill!

The special event, which features a Kerrang! room, a graffiti showcase and a skate ramp (among other things) will take place at a secret London location.

There's no doubt that this will be London’s biggest and highest energy Halloween event so make sure you get your tickets before they’re all eaten alive!

Earlybird tickets can be purchased for £12.50 from the Crossfire website, HERE.

For more information about the event, CLICK HERE.

For those who wanna get on the blag however... Kerrang! has three pair of tickets to give away to the event..

I can't understand the appeal of Enter Shitkari. They sound like a dodgy 80's indie band with some cheap keyboards and a crap singer. Hardly innovative, just a shit mix of dated music.

I'm bemused as to how you dont know what Meh - a word used to describe an uninterust or no opinion on something and MILF - from american pie, meaning "Mum I'd like to fuck"- mean!

And this sounds shit. Pendulum are such a good band, but there live shows are fucked up...mosh pits? No thanks.

Pendulum's dj set at download was LIKE A BOMB GOING OFF, nothing like live show or album - slayer, machine head, pantera and way more mashed up with everything. Crossfire dj's also slam the metal and punk in.
This will be sick!

This is aimed at all you narrow minded children who can't see outside the box of OMFG THEYRE NOT WEARING 'GUYLINER' and don't reakuse there is a world where it's ok to like VARIOUS genres of music.

Anyway, I've heard from loads of people that Pendulum are amazing live so I think this hallowe'en gig sounds awesome. Keep it up Kerrang!

they aren't that amazing live. they are good, but not amazing. Although it may depend on the environment you see them in. I saw them in the NME tent at reading, which was really the wrong stage for them and it was shit.

Give it a rest, hypocritical crybabies.

I'm with the Doc on this one. I listen to metal. Nothing else. Why? Because I like it. I don't care for anything else, not because of the supposed "Thou shalt not listen to anything else" law, but simply because it doesn't appeal to me. It's that simple.

Yet time after time, we get all these "open-minded" people who feel the need to lambast us. "waaaah! look at the evil narrow-minded metallers! They're not like us therefore they suck! We have to insult them til they see the error of their ways!"
Are you really that insecure that you have to look down on metallers who are happy listening to just metal? You call us children, we call you smug condescending cunts.

And you don't seem to wonder why do metallers seem to be getting more hostile towards other forms of music? It's the old circle the wagons mentality. The music we love is constantly under attack from within. Magazines who built themselves up by catering for us, now discard and openly mock those who put them there, constantly abusing what they seem as outdated. Who says it's outdated? They do. And people buy into it. Why? Because they're desperate to be seen as being into what's trendy at that moment in time. You look at retards like the programmers at Scuzz and Kerrang TV, who claim to put the heaviest stuff on tv, yet it's not remotely heavy. Winger are heavier than most of the stuff you see on those channels these days.

So if Kerrang want to feature Pendulum, let them. The magazine is gradually turning into Smash Hits anyway. People like Pendulum, fine. I don't, simply because I don't like that kind of music. My personal opinion? All that computerised stuff sucks, and any music that uses samples isn't original, it's simply ripping off the original artists. And I am damned if I am going to apologise for thinking it's shit.

DTP.

Give it a rest, hypocritical crybabies.

I'm not saying that people HAVE to open there minds. Half my friend only like screamo, half of them are chavs and the rest are like me and like most things (EBM, metal, industrial, dance / trance, rock, deathcore, black metal etc).

Continuing this, I do agree that Scuzz and K! are just showing commercial stuff. And that yes, Smash Hits is basicly K! without a bit of deathcore and emo plus some goth and other metal / industrial.

I do agree with a lot of what you said. But what pisses me off are the people who say that they WONT EVER listen to anything and thus it shouldnt be in the magazine. Opening the midn isnt just about listening to music - its just accepting it. At least people like you accept that people like it and its in the magazine.

Anyway, rant over.

x

Hmm

Lets get some perspective here.

Good for you all out there who only like metal. But if you expect people to 'respect' your views of music and only liking one genre etcetcetc then you need to accept that Kerrang! is a magazine aimed not simply at you metal lovers but at a WIDER audience also and has to try to cater for everyone. Furthermore, how can u expect to be repected for your single favour in genre if you can't repect other peoples ideas on music?

I think were getting strayed off topic here; Pendulum gig sounds good. End of discussion please.

Hopefully Al-Qaeda will bomb this gig, Bali-style.
And regarding the whole open minded debate, shouldn't you people be open minded enough to accept that others despise you and the filth you listen to?

Just confirming that this night will be packed with METAL if it's got anything to do with us.

We will play the heaviest shit all night in this room and if you have never seen Pendulum DJ before then you have no idea about what they can achieve with blast beats, death metal and stoner rock.

Expect Slayer, Mastodon etc to be thrown in your face. It's Halloween not your usual Monday night out with the latest fake emo rock hits!

Listen to the Heavy Shit shows for what we will play here: http://www.caughtinthecrossfire.com/radio/heavy/

To the person slating of Enter Shikari...
Firstly, spell it right.
You obviously have a dodgey hearing system, if you think that they sound like a 80s band.
