Mastodon unveil new album

Mastodon have finished work on the follow-up to their commercially and critically acclaimed 2006 album Blood Mountain.

Entitled Crack In The Skye, the band's fourth long player weighs in at 50 minutes with just seven songs.

The tracklisting is as follows:

02 Divinations
03 Quintessence
04 The Czar
I Usurper
II Escape
III Martyr
IV Spiral
05 Ghost of Karelia
06 Crack The Skye
07 The Last Baron

Crack In The Skye was produced by Brendan O'Brien (Rage Against The Machine, AC/DC Velvet Revolver) and will be released through Warner Bros early next year.

Mastodon are awesome, I know it came out in 2006 but I've only recently realised what a cracking album Blood Mountain is :D

I havn't been to any date/s on the Unholy Alliance tour, but I'll wager Trivium got the most shit from the Slayer fans on each night :S
I love all the bands on the bill though.

And to the person who thinks A7X are better than Mastodon?
You seriously need to re-think that.
Again I like A7X as well, but when it comes to touring the UK they're about as reliable as showing up here for the WHOLE of any plotted tour as Axl Rose is at showing up on time to one of his own gigs.

Mastodon have had no such problems as far as I'm aware.
