Interesting to see Kerrang's take of Dir en grey. The last time Kerrang actually covered a gig review they tore them apart and basically said the fanbase make this band.

So why am i now reading that they gave them 5 kerrang stars and say they are a huge prospect for 2009? They've been huge in Germany and most of europe for the past 3 or 4 years.

Nice to see Mucc there but again Kerrang is abit slow with these things...i mean they have been around for 10 years...

Oh well, Kerrang fails once again.

You obviously didn't read the last K! reviews of Dir en grey: the Islington Academy show got a great review and the band's show at Shepherds Bush Empire didn't criticize the band..it criticized the promotion of the gig. Get your facts right.

As for MUCC, yes they've been around for 10 years but they've never had an official UK release for an album before. Hence their inclusion now.

Come on, Dir en grey has been around for 10 years as well, it's more to do with these bands only just coming over and making releases.

And Dir en grey's performances had a slump that they only started pulling out of half way through Family Values last year; they're only recently getting back to their best. If memory serves well, that review where they said the fans made the band was around the same time where the band wasn't connecting on stage much and Kyo's voices were less-then-amazing. Now they're getting back to being top form, also (if Red Soil and the singles are anything to go by) uroburous is going to be a great album to make up for MOAB. That's why they're a huge prospect for 2009.
Here's hoping Dir en grey have finally gotten over the whole 'I'm leavig the band' thing Kyo pulled in '05 that's had them pretty much crippled.


I'm more curious to why L'arc en ciel were linked to MUCC...they have completely different styles.

i know Dear Superstar have only just signed to a label but i think they're really good! they're a band from near me and i went to see them with my best friend and it was fucking amazing with them getting the crowd to shout things like 'hollywood whore' and the awesome music they played!!!!!!!! anyway my point is the review you gave there new album 'heartless' wasn't fair e.g: calling them 'a poor mans atreyu' and only giving them 1 K! calling micky's vocals 'off key' i wot be avoided their album i've bought it! then again i also dont agree with the review on the rasmus!
p.s:maybe a poster of DS might help appoligise?

your inclusions of Jrock articles is the only reason i've bought Kerrang in the past year or so
You need to cover more bands! There's quite a few releasing stuff in europe and the UK now, including The GazettE and Girugamesh
Jrock bands fanbase are the strongest and most fanatical of any genre, so we really appreciate you finally acknowledging them as artists in the west, because the music they create is so different and unique compared to the majority of popular western bands
Will you be doing an album review for UROBOROS? Thousands of fans look forward to seeing it soon.
