The Burning Question 29/09/2008

This week's Burning Question:

THIS WEEK, LIMP BIZKIT FRONTMAN FRED DURST HAS SAID "IT'S TIME TO DROP THE BIZKIT ON THE UNIVERSE". THING IS, DOES ANYONE STILL CARE?

Post your comments below and you could appear in next week's Kerrang! magazine.

Please remember to include a link to your MySpace profile so that, if we use your response, we can print a picture of you.

does anyone even give a shit? true they were ok in the 90s but surely the fact that they sank without a trace gives them a clue to how they'll work out now? it'd just be embarrasing

The thing is, they had that one song years ago, that made everyone go out and buy red hats, and then it passed. I think if they did something completely different then people may care, but right now, I don't think so...

yep

I reckon they should make a come back, they gave a pretty good edge to nu-metal.
I guess they could come back with a fresh sound, maybe more heavier ?

People should give them a chance again, it's not like they don't have any fans.

Fred Durst made a massive impact on young teens druing the millenium, and idol of the era anlongside Linkin Park. Probably thebest nu-metal bands ever made.

A comeback would be awesome!

Okay, it'd be cool to hear what they're gonna make or sound now, but I don't particularly think that they'll be as good as they were in the 90's. Maybe they shouldnt come back.

'Nu Metal' was big about 8 years ago. Now no one cares. Music has moved on. If they haven't changed their style, they probably won't get anywhere, in such a fickle business

no !! why would people care any more ?? the last thing Fred Durst did was that song for Gothika - how long ago ??

i think they just faded more into the background - it wasn't a sudden halt like Blink 182; they just more "disappeared"

they can go either two ways:
either be really successful, or
it can go really, really, bad - why take the risk and lose the fans you have ??

OF COURSE WE STILL FUCKING CARE!

for those that grew up in the 90s, limp bizkit are legends...they were (and still are) a major influence, providing something just that little bit different for all us little bit different kids.

and to be honest, who doesn't enjoy singing along to rollin' full pelt while cruising along the motorway!

I believe it when I see it, come on anyone remember how Limp Bizkit pulled out of the MK Bowl Festival with only a few days to go in June 2001, then did not reschedule, what a BLOODY let down that was and of course they are not the same with Wes Borland. FD go back to Britney Spears, think she needs you more than us UK letdown punters !!

Yeah!

As far as I'm concerned this band stopped making music after Chocolate Starfish. However, they were the first 'rock' band I started listening to and bought into and the first three records are still a major guilty pleasure. If LB were to tour again I would definitely hit up at least one London show.

I don't really care about any new music they make, but I'm desperate for them to come back to the UK and play their classics.

Drop The Act

I think the guy has some serious insecurities. i reckon Fred is prob subconsciously depressed about the person he has become and has to hide behind this persona he has been acting out since the late 90's. sad thing about it is, is that no one does care anymore. people see it as corny and pretencious.
Problem is Fred cant see that. and as much as his band may have influanced music today, it just doesnt wash anymore mate...

Absolutely wonderful news. What they do without the trend will be good, despite people inevitably not giving it a chance because it's limp bizkit.

I care! I love Reults May Vary, and even though Wes Borland isn't on board, that album alone proves they can make some good songs without him!

personally, i didnt even realise that fred durst was still alive! i thought he had died already...or gone missing.
but anyway, whatever he wants to do with his life is his own problem, i mean he's only ruining his own life by carrying on living.

I don't think any of the fans they had in their day in the sun would care any more. Too many hugely loved bands have made amazing returns. I think they should keep rollin' rollin' rollin' away from the K! charts.

LIMP BIZKIT RESPONSE

Limp Bizkit as we know it, it's over, it's a band who definitely had his moment, rocked out the stages and show the world that new metal was the heat of the moment, but those days are gone. As I see it, Fred misses his glory days and is trying to find out if his audience misses him too, that's all, it's like you have Axl (from G N' R) saying: "It's time to drop some Guns on the universe"; I mean, come on.. we all know that's over as it was. What he has to know the hard way is that the past is gone, the audience is gone and he probably has to move on as well, cause world is waiting for him to get some update.

Most bands seem to be reappearing now adays and regaining support from their old fans and getting new ones. In my opinion there wont be much difference here.

no one cares, they were good at one stage and then just dissapeared, and now they are coming back as it now seems to be the in thing to do, and they have obviously just run out of money to spend!

There are better bands around nowadays to plug into our ears. I think Limp Bizkit had better have something damn good to get old fans interested again. If not, they'll just crash and burn again.

Just sounds like another "reunion" to me. Fred lost the touch many mountains ago and hardly anyone has any respect for the guy. If Limp Bizkit do come back on the scene, they've got to be prepared to get hammered by everyone! No one will take them seriously and really, it's obvious they're doing it for the wrong reasons.

they need to either re-invent thenselves or just end it cause they are dead in my eyes

Nu-metal is anti-music. If you cant perform, you shouldn't be allowed on a stage. Fred Durst cant sing, Limb Bizkits guitar is rubbish, the drums are rubbish...

Nobody with half a brain and working ears cares about nu-metal.

personally and this is no disrespect to anyone but I think a lot of K! readers are into emo friendly bands such as fall out boy who simply do their music for the money and publicity, it's bands like LIMP BIZKIT who write kick ass music ;D
I can name a gazillion of awesome tracks by Fred Durst, Behind Blue Eyes is amazing. My Generation and the list just goes on. im sure most of your readers haven't heard of Limp Bizkit but no doubt when they release something epic you'll get a load of arse lickers saying how good they are blahhh.,

Not a chance. There may be a slight 'OMFG THERE BACK!' Like metallica's new stuff. But again, just like metallica, when people actually lsiten to the stuff there gonna realise its all a pile of Jank! People still apreciate them for the music they made. There just gonna ruien all their old stuff! Keep it old school boys ...

I think for a band like them, their time is well and truly gone.

they had their chance and well, they didnt exactly blow anyone away!
so for them to come back, it would really mean that they have to come up with some old material and make it sound different because i dont think they have it in them to write some kickass new songs!

but why not let them go for it anyway, i mean, if fred think their up for a challenge!

The nineties have come and gone, Fred mate :)

I dont think many people will care, they're part of a different generation of music, that being rap metal. Its just not in anymore.

To be honest no. They had some good stuff, when that rap metal was the thing, and I very much doubt they would go all Emo punk rock. They had their time, and now they have to let somebody else have a chance.

It would be brill to see them come back. They weren't as inspirational as the likes of Metallica and Iron Maiden, but they created some good music and acquired many fans.

Digestive Bizkitz!!!!

Limp Bizkit weren't even good in their prime, they were just an over-hyped part of a shameful chapter in music history. No one cares and no one wants to see Fred Dursts cock in any more home made porn, put it away Fred...

Well it's all up to him because they only really had one really good song that everyone enjoyed. So if he did in my opinon he'd ruin it they were only good at one point.

I think it would cool if they got back together for a tour or something. I used to love them as a kid, and I still love songs like Eat You Alive and Break Stuff now. If they toured, I'd go see them! It would be quite an awesome night, full of fun definitely. It wouldn't be anything serious at all, but hey its all good!

Nope, the music scene has far better bands than them, it would be wasting air time.
