Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has told a San Francisco radio station that he’s not angry about the recent leak of Death Magnetic.
The album is said to have been sold in a Parisian record store ten days before its official release on September 12, with illegal copies making its way online late last night.
"Listen, we're ten days from release,” Ulrich said on The Woody Show on San Francisco radio station Live 105. “I mean, from here, we're golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn't quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody's happy. It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days, so it's fine. We're happy."
hes blates hating it but coz of napster he wont do nething and be like yeh its fine...well i suppose theyre still getting munies :P

I'm behaving this time. I refuse to download the leak, I'm going to wait and buy it next week. God knows I'll need something to get me through a dull week of making beds and scrubbing toilets.
Interesting how he didn't feel the same way about Napstar at the time.
I guess he has learnt his lesson now that so many people think he's a money grabbing arsehole who just wants to buy more crappy artwork!
As for the album I hope it rocks but I don't hold out much hope. Still, it surely can't be any worse than St Anger....

Metallica
Funny how a hell of a lot of people always end their comments with "can't be any worse than St. Anger", or "it's gotta be a lot better than St. Anger" or "it's make or break time for Metallica".. St. Anger is a bloody good record and has some great moments on it, which with time and maturity, more people will grow to love. I know it didn't have solos, and the drums sounded a bit naff, but it was brutal, and bloody heavy, and there's some great lyrics on there. The actual song "St. Anger" is fantastic. Anyway I like the album, I love the band and have done since 1989. Death Magnetic is gonna blow me away next Friday (no i'm not gonna ruin the event by downloading some characterless empty download of it) any proper fan will wait and enjoy the day next Friday when the real deal comes out. Nuff said.

@Jimmy
Glad I'm not the only one. Despite lots of heavy critism of St.Anger, it was IMO a fantastic album. (and I loved the sound they made with the drums) From the snippets I've heard of the new album, I'm a little disappointed, however I'll reserve judgement until I hear it.
just downloaded it, will still buy the cd though, its amazing! good old school metallica are back! woo!

thank goodness for "try before you buy" ( <-- lolz) Iron Maiden are heavier now than Metallica are ROFL
Lars wouldn't know double base drums if he fell over 'em and Hammett! FTW! my daughter plays better solos than he ever will... /acquired/listened/deleted/

Go and listen to Take Shat then since you obviously don't know great metal when you hear it. I'd check yourself for rigamortis if I was you dude.

Welcome back, 4 horsemen!
Just finished listening to the new album... and all I have to say is: - welcome back guys! where have you been in the last 17 years?
Ok, the album is not perfect (the unforgiven III? Come on!), and some song are too long; but Kirk solos are back! Without doubt the best Metallica album since the Black Album... I'll buy the CD!

"It’s the way business is done these days," Mr Ulrich said. "And there’s the novelty of anyone wanting to listen to a new Metallica album."
