Funeral For A Friend lose bassist

Funeral For A Friend have parted company with bassist Gareth Davies due to "geographical differences."

An official statement from the band reads as follows:

"Hi there everyone

"It's with sadness that we announce Gareth Davies has left Funeral for a Friend. As some of you may know, Gareth has been living in America for the past couple of years, and recently got married. Ultimately, the strain of travelling between continents has taken it's toll and Gareth made the decision that it would be in the best interests of himself, his family and Funeral to leave the band. We totally respect and understand his choice, wish him all the best in his future and we thank him for being part of our lives for the past 6 years. We'll miss him."

"We'd like to take this opportunity therefore to welcome Gavin Burrough (Ghostlines/Hondo Maclean/The Future) to the family. Gav is a super-tall, super-talented dude whom we've all known a long time and we're sure you're gonna love him as much as we do."

"Weird fact - Gav was born on the same day as Gareth. AND both their names begin with a G. Crazy stuff."

Look forward to seeing you on tour.

Love

Funeral For A Friend 2.0"

Funeral For a Friend will release their fourth studio album, Memory And Humanity on October 13. be sure to pick up next week's Kerrang! magazine for an exclusive track-by-track from frontman Matthew Davies-Kreye.

I do give a fuck. I agreed with the comment you're referring to, but I don't really think the FFAF men, nearly middle-aged and matured now after six years of doing their thing, quite fit into that category.

It's sad that he had to quit the band, but I totally understand his decision. He just grew up. I mean, he's got a life in America. He probably doesn't want to be on and off planes to play all over Europe all the time, when he could be building a family in the US. The best of luck to him.

I love FFAF. I know that Gareth left with good intentions, looking after his family. Met him a couple of months ago and he was a really nice guy. Gavin will be a suitable replacement. I saw The Future a year or so ago and they were really good.

I wish you all the best Gareth you'll be missed.

if you didnt give a fuck, why did you read and comment you prick!

FFAF are quality band, even though they have matured and changed their sound, they still write fantastic music, just as they did when they first appeared on the scene. long live FFAF, even if it means losing/gaining members. Good luck to gareth, maybe he'll start something just as great the other side of the pond!

haha, you say 'nobody gives a fuck', well if what you say is true, how is it that funeral are one of the biggest bands around for their genre, selling millions of records, playing international tours and festivals on a regular basis? i'm pretty sure at least a few people would have to give a fuck for them to get to that level.

oh, and here's another weird fact, nobody gives a fuck, about you.
