The new album is purely amazing, the whole band are sounding sweet and i love the variation in Coreys singing through the different songs. Psychosocial and Snuff are probs the best songs on there. The albums been on repeat since i bought it!!

its terrible i hate it.... they have ran out of ideas... the start of the album is pretty much the same as an older album of theirs... im truly disapointed

Also loving the new masks, apart from Corey's, where he looks like a bad guy from the Powerpuff Girls...

its well like experimental, i really wanna see the new stuff live cuz maybe that will give a bigger impact that the album gives cuz tbh its just a bit lacking for me! apart from the singles the whole cd sounds like not alot of effort was put in to the other songs!

but yea really wanna see it live with the old stuff mixed in that should be sick! so over all

But from Psychosocial being over played, they're another awesome band who have become to commercialised.

I wasn't a big fan of Slipknot at the start but since borrowing my mates CD, I've completely fallen for it! It's so different and unique which is something we're deffinatly short of these days.

Gematria (the killing name) is the best song there, the riff is s heavy!

5 k's definetly. Better than the verve, comparison.

At first i didnt like it but after a few times listenin to it i think its pretty good.
I still prefer there older stuff, but the new new albums still good :D.

the verve are better. how dare you slate them. slipknot are rubbish and need to die. theyre completely talentless and all their albums were awful. They havent made album after album of classic tracks like the verve, theyve just made album after album of garbage mate.

It's different than the previous albums, not as heavy as they'd made it out to be. There are some great tracks on there but I think Corey has brought to much into Slipknot from Stone Sour.
I still LOVE Slipknot and I just got my ticket to see them in Glasgow. :D

I really liked it, although I don't think it's 'their heaviest yet', as Corey said. I particularly like Snuff, and the Vermillion remix.

It's really different but also retains the signature slipknot sound, and i love the thrash riffs and shredding that they've built up from volume 3, really good way of expanding the bands sound.

i love how you people judge and rate bands like Slipknot.

Slipknot is a great band. but you cant rate them. why? because if you rated them you would be rating the 100s of bands they rip off and are influenced by. its impossible to make any thing "original". but still slipknot makes great music! dont get me wrong.

The album was half and half really....Some good, some terrible!!!

They should loose the masks though because their music is good but liike because of the masks people dont take them seriously and see them as a GIMMICK!!!!

It's certainly not their best album. Listening it through a few times makes it seem like a Stone Sour album with a few Slipknot songs. It won't stop me liking it, nor will in stop me seeing them on the 2nd, but it is nowhere near as classic as their last three albums.

sounds like they've matured a lot and become better musicians since the first album. The songwriting is some of the best in metal.

I love it! not quite sure if it is my favourite but i've just bought tickets to see them in London twice and Manchester which must say it all!!

It came out yesterday here and I got it for 12 bucks! I made my mum go get it and she went to a place called Sunrise Records, which have rip off prices usually, and got a free Slipknot All Hope Is Gone sew-on patch! I am going to sew it to my Black Parade coat. :D

I just ripped it to my iPod and I've only listened up until Vendetta but it is really good. I don't know how Corey thinks it is going to rip my face off because it doesn't, but it is still awesome! Glad he decided to sing on some of it!

This album is absolute KICK ASS! The different sounds they use for each song, creating individual master pieces, from pure brutal songs (such as All Hope Is Gone) then slowing things down with songs like Snuff. I personally think this album is their best all round album, and shows more musical talents exploring the different areas of music.

It's terrible in all honesty.
ABSOLUTLY terrible.
Where they havn't re-done old tracks but without any sampling, DJ, or sick drumming they have ripped off other peoples style or Just done heavy Stone Sour.
YES Joey's drumming is slightly more complex than it has been but it's so subtly done you can barely notice it.

1. Execute: Their usual tipical intro though slightly less enjoyable than normal.

2. Gematria (The Killing Name): Not a bad track. Pretty much just disasterpiece with an exdtended drum intro (listen tojust before the lyrics kick in it's pretty much exactly the same) and goes on TOO FUCKING LONG!!! Would be allright if something actually happened towards the end but it just repeats itself.

3. Sulfur: Not too bad. Just not great. Pretty boring. Sick drumming but doesn't really do much. Possibly one of the better tracks. Chorus sounds like Stone Sour.

4. Psychosocial: Most Slipknot like track on the album. I think there may be DJing in this track. Shame it's over played and a little too light for my liking.

5. Dead Memories: Stone Sour. Simple as. Enjoyable. But seriously this is just Stone Sour but slightly heavier. Good solo at the end I'll give it that.

6. Vendetta: Sic tune. I enjoy this one. Shame Corey sings too much through it. Needed more brutal vocals. Glad to actually here some DJing again (though very litttle)

7. Butcher's Hook: WORST TRACK ON THE ALBUM. Was really looking forward to an Anti-Emo anthum from Slipknot and they give us this. Lyrics are allright. But it's sooooooo fucking boring. it just goes over itself. And the chorus is as whiney as the subject matter.

8. Gehenna: Wow I didn't know Korn wrote a track for this album -_-". Ok possibly considerable as a SEVEARLY watered down Skin Ticket.

9. This Cold Black: Wow didn't know Disturbed wrote a track for this album -_-" and then progresses in't repetition. Still no DJing. No interesting drumming just ALOT of double bass peddle.

10. Wherein Lies Continue: Boring. Slow. Doesn't go anywhere. Nice chorus. Shame Stone Sour performed it again.

11. Snuff: This is actually beautiful. I adore this. I loved Vermillion despite it's lack of Slipknot feel. I really enjoy this track.

12. All Hope is Gone: When I first heard this I hoped it was gonna be the worst track on the album cos it sounded like boring generic metal. not Slipknot at all. Now I think of it as one of the best tracks. That really depresses me -_-"

All in all it's not a bad album. Just not great or brilliant like Slipknot used to be. I'll start listening to them again when they do another track like "Do Nothing/Bitchslap" or "Spit it Out" ,basically go back to doing Nu-metal rather than boring generic metal. Till then I'm giving up on Slipknot albums. Might go see them live as long as they play some old stuff.

Oh and yes I did have nothing better to do right now before you start complaining about that rather than addressing my points.

i agree with NiCK. Iowa is their best album, but All Hope Is Gone brings a completely new style of Slipknot that many fans are gonna have to get used to really. its a fuckin (Sic) album and Psychosocial is the best single by Slipknot for sure !

I think the uk tour setlist will only really consist of the bes 5 ot 6 tracks from all hope is gone and singles.

All hope is gone,great album but most of the tracks start the same so atm i can only recognise about 4 or 5 tracks, not counting execute.

i think its a truly good album not what i was expecting i havent been a big big fan of them but i am now just hope theres more to come :)

i got the album on monday after the first listen i wasn't to keen on it, but now i have listened 2 it alot more i quite like it. 7/10

I think its really good album, the songs have some really good and powerfull lyricsl, lots have people said its shit but they have to think about how the album relates to the band as they are now not how there music used to be.

this is an amazing album, coreys vocals are amazing and its great how much they've matured. i love the difference in some of the songs, like you would have snuff and then gematria, two completely different types of songs but they work.
def one of the best albums in the past year!

Ok this album kicks ass, seriously iowa meh its ok i guess but its just not the best at all. But this album is fucking insane and yes of course its going to sound like stone sour as the last you heard of corey was them and he sings alot more now. I don't see how you can say that its just stone sour just because he sings in certain songs i mean the music sounds completely different drumming is better and so is the guitaring seriously its nothing like stone sour. Also what is it with people saying that its boring and songs go on for to long, excuse me have youa ctually listened to the song "iowa" 14 minutes compared to 6 minutes of gemtriai and gematria is fucking amazing. And this album obviously isn't remembered more because it came out like two days ago.

So basically don't listen to idiots who rant about that its shit or whatever cus its really not, it is one of the most enjoyable albums you will ever listen to in your life i can assure you of that

The new album...is to be honest SHIT compared to Vol 3. There was obviously a slip up in the thought process somewhere along the line.

Both of these albums deserve to be at the top don't matter which order they are in as long as it is proper music starting to break into the charts again.
For too long R&B,Reality TV And MANUFACTURED pop has been corrupting the music scene.
Hell even my 2 children are starting to get into ROCK & METAL so there is hope for todays youth. They both came to this years DOWNLOAD Festival this year & thoroughly enjoyed it.
