Machine Head guitarist collapses on stage

Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel collapsed on stage during the band's set in Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Virginia last night (August 17).

Demmel had been complaining of feeling light headed throughout the show, and passed out during the second-to-last song due to severe dehydration.

"That was a scary moment for all of us," said MH drummer Dave McClain. "Seeing your friend collapse like that is something that nobody wants to experience."

However Demmel is expected to make a full recovery and will rejoin his bandmates for the final date of the Rockstar Mayhem tour on Tuesday, August 19 at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, New York.

"He's doing much better now," adds McClain. "and is taking it easy on the bus."

Machine Head will tour the UK in the autumn with Slipknot and Children Of Bodom.

Sounds bad, glad he's ok

Metall Hammer had a thing at the end of a slipknot interview saying "Slipknot will be touring the UK in December with Machine Head and Children Of Bodom"
But I've not seen any real details yet

Nah, me neither, and I've heard rumours of tour dates but nothing confirmed. And on the Mayhem Tour thing on Scuzz Robb Flynn said theres 9 dates in the UK, 3 of which in London... But who knows what the fuck is happening?

Scary shit

i was worried after hearing that phil demmel collapsed on stage i hope he's ok and this proves that even if 1 of the band members feel ill they will stay dedicated to the fans like MH have always done i watched them at the black crusade and they were brutal and Phil even dived off the stage truly magical band.
I hope for a speedy recovery roll on december tour with Slipknot whoever thought of that tour deserves an MBE.
