Smashing Pumpkins mainman Billy Corgan is suing a Chicago filmmaker for $100,000 for recording substandard concert, back stage and studio footage and effectively holding it to ransom.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Corgan filed a suit against Lester Cohn of Pure DV Productions last week stating that Cohn's work was "completely unsatisfactory and not completed in a professional, workmanlike manner in accordance with the standards of a music filmmaker."
The newspaper also states that Cohn told Corgan that he's refusing to hand over the majority of the recorded footage unless he gets more money.
Cohn was employed by the band from 2003 to 2005 to record footage for an upcoming DVD release.
