This is just disgraceful and pathetic. What threat is wearing different clothes and listening to different music go to do with stability of the nation? Fuck all. This is just another pathetic act, like the daily mail on MCR. This is totally wrong, why don't they focus on global warming and rape and murder rates in the nation first? Picking up on small things thta aren't even a threat is pathetic. How are they going to act? Shoot all goths/emos if the aren't in 'casual' clothing? My angst is fucking outrageous. If goths/emos are a threat to your 'national stability, how come we hear about 'stabbings' every week in the news? Chavs should be banned, they are more of a threat.

This is truly pointless by banning it they are just saying its not okay to be into a nice audience of clothing or music, thus promoting a wider problem later on by suppressing youth at a critical age.
This music probably helps more than it hurts and the government need to look at its youth and celebrate it rather than ban it and cause thousands of them to sink into a depression.

But i heard today that they're going to stop illegal music downloading,
I mean what about small time bands on myspace, or the underground scene?
Also why band emos/goths.
I'm punk, i shouldn't exactly care, but i do,
Chavs are the real problem in society,
You should ban anyone wearing nike hanging pointlessely outside a local shop, they're the main culprits, they're who everyone should be blaming.

I myself am not part of these categories but have many friends who are and i know that if they were told to change the way they are for a ridiculous law they'd rebel! Which in fact makes more of a problem as more rebellious kids will be walking the streets!
This is all because of obviously bored ppl in highly paid jobs who think that people who act and look different make their pretty and imaginary society look messy although i have come to realise that the majority of issues you hear in the news or papers are actually done by chavs!
So why don't chavs get banned?

you cant make it illegal to dress in a certain way. fair enough to monitor websites, but other than that who is it hurting, if people wanna commit suicide then its because of how theyre feeling, not causa the music that they listen to. sort out their lives, not ban the music that they listen to, it seems really illadvised.

this properly made me laugh when i read it. how the fuck can they ban music? how do you distinguish between whats "emo and goth" and what isnt? if theyre gunna start at this, where is it gunna end?
you cant make it illegal to dress in a certain way. fair enough to monitor websites, but other than that who is it hurting, if people wanna commit suicide then its because of how theyre feeling, not causa the music that they listen to. sort out their lives, not ban the music that they listen to, it seems really illadvised.

It's seems when ever there is a problem now-a-days Emo's, Goths, Punks ect. seem to be the problem. Let get rid of Emo's and Goth then maybe the Chavs will stop beating people up for being 'different'.

i think this is a good idea as i hate emo but i dont think you should have the right to tell people what to do with themselves so me and all my emo friends (i know i said i hate emo but that is only the music) we think this is extremely wrong and needs to be sorted out by all goths, emo , grundgers, and everything else as this is bad

That is taking away the freedom of expression. Why does it matter ow someone dresses, as long as there not hurting anyone, or comitting crimes then why does it really matter? Taking away the freedom of what they wear, is giving the message to people that unless you dress "normally" you wont be accepted. That is discrimination!!

How stupid can people be by banning Emo's and Goth's they'll probably just make more trouble that it's worth. It won't work. It's seems when ever there is a problem now-a-days Emo's, Goths, Punks ect. seem to be the problem. It just goes to show what scare mongering does in this fucked up world. It's a direct undermining of freedom of expression and it will never ever hold up. People should be free to dress however they want to and listen to whatever they want to without someone telling them that they are 'violent' and a danger to other people. Maybe they should ban rage against the machine right now... infact, maybe they should ban hiphop while theyr at it because it insites gang violence, prostitution and drug abuse... Maybe they should ban lesbiens from making really shit pop music (woops, too late)... Maybe Putin should pull his head out of his arse and realise that it is both immoral and probably illegal to ban certain types of music... Surely it is every humans right to dress how they like and listen to whatever music they want to? The fact is, it's not just 'emos' or 'goths' that self harm or attempt suicide. And even if it is, the reason is almost always bad publicity about 'emo' causing bullying, leading to depression.

Maybe if people knew more about suicide, self harm and depression they would stop blaming 'emo' and 'goth'. Publicists should do more research into reasons for depression and self harm rather than 'emo' and 'goth'.

The fact is, most 'emos' and 'goths' are perfectly happy with their lives and it makes me so angry that the press pick on these people when they should be concentrating on tackling knife/gun crime and poverty.
