Poison: Rape charges dropped

Police in Mississippi have dropped charges against Poison drummer Rikki Rockett.

As previously reported on Kerrang! dot com, Rockett was arrested by Los Angeles police on March 24 after disembarking a plane at the city's LAX airport. The glam rocker was taken into police custody and subsequently charged over an alleged rape that took place in Neshoba County, Mississippi in September 2007.

However Rockett was actually at home in California when the crime took place.

"I was with my fiance watching her try on wedding dresses," Rockett told The Associated Press. "We've got eyewitnesses to that. That is one word you don't want associated with your name. Rape is right up there with murder and child molestation."

Now Mississippi police are searching for a man who claimed he was the Poison drummer who goes by the alias of John Minskoff. Police believe Minskoff has previously posed as a rock star to pick up women.
