Kerrang is kerrrappp now

what happened to the different bands and different sounds.

It's all Elliot Minor and Ville Valo all the time now

Sort it out, cause you've lost me as a customer.

Stop putting the same bands in every week, ok people like them...but they certainly do not need to be in it week in week out.

Oh and try to recognise the underground music scene a bit more too.
There are some good bands going unnoticed, We Are The Ocean have only just recently got into kerrang and they've been around a while.

There are bands like Dividing The Line, Flood Of Red, Saving Aimee, All Forgotten etc who deserve to be in your magazine but you won't give them the time of day.

Stop focusing your attention on the same mediocre bands and get something different in there for a change.

The price keeps increasing as does the pointless rubbish that we had already heard in last weeks issue.

I agree, you focus on the same bands week in and week out. and you have lost me as a customer too.
bands like we are the ocean, go;audio, and local bands have the potential to make it big, and to be honest, you are really restricting what they can acheive.

ville valo and elliot minor and paramore have all had their time at the top and it's time to let newcomers steal the spotlight.

And there's only like 2-3 decent covers on Maiden Heaven.

Ville's looking more feminine as he gets older! lol. He's still one good-looking muthafucka though. But why is he on the front cover of Kerrang! AGAIN?? And it's another pointless interview with him aswell!! I bet most of the questions will be something along the lines of "do you wax your pubes" and "what was the best sex you've ever had?" It's such a shame because HIM are actually a really great band, Ville Valo's just getting too much limelight and it's making him look like a sleezy popstar, which he isn't. Look Kerrang!, why don't you lay off the useless frontman gossip and stick to printing stuff that is actually worth reading. It would be fine if HIM (the WHOLE band) were on the front because of a new album or tour dates, but please stop printing shit. Ville's had about 5 fucking random generator interviews and 'Ville answers your questions' bull this year. Just calm down on the Ville Valo interviews! Jeez...

Why is Him always on the front cover??? They are the most overrated dand ever, excluding wings of a butterfly which at max is an average yet still annoying song ,they produce absolute rubbish. Now a band which is too undervalued and not appreciated by kerrang is Rammstein, the best band ever.

OMG did MSI actually say that? That is ignorance and hypocrisy in the extreme considering their bassist could win the award for publicity/fame whoreness. My Chemical Romance are barely in it anymore. The last time they were, it was just a little article, it's not like they're on the front of every other Kerrang! mag (yes, the appearance of Ville Valo on the front of K! mag is starting to get on my nerves). MSI are in every single issue and it's really starting to annoy me. At first, I liked them. I thought that they were pretty cool, but the more I hear about them, the more I dislike them. The whole point of an interview is to let people know the real you, let them know what you're really like so that they may grow to like you, not deter fans through their ignorance, hypocrisy and the way they contradict themselves all the time.

I, for one, would like to see LESS Mindless Self Indulgence and perhaps a nice poster of Frank Iero (rhythm guitarist of MCR). Gerard's getting all the attention and Frank's getting none.

ok so i went to t in the park weekend just gone and cancer bats were fucking amazing, there wasnt much of an audience for them but fuck me they were amazing although liam signed my ticket over the bar code therefore i couldnt go out of the campsite for booze but its all good! also the blackout were pretty sick i'd appriciate a ginormous sean smith poster next week thanks! OH YEAH and i fucking hate elliot minor but i gotta give it to them all that critisism has made 'em beef it up a little! they were pretty decent! x

Once again another boring magazine. That toser was only on the front a while back. Do us all a favour and put someone new on there. And write about some different bands for once. Elliot Minor sound exactly like Mcfly, next they'll be in here along with all the other crappy bands like Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy.

being die hard elliot minor fan, i really disagree with you here, elliot minor are quite alot different than mcfly

im not saying that the world should all love elliot minor, that'd just be fangirl status and thats not me

elliot minor use alot of classical in their music whereas mcfly are more pop rock

kerrang reports on all kinds of rock, if it just reported metal or pop rock every week, its gonna get boring and there would be nothing to write about

i do agree that alot of bands are well too overpublished in this magazine especially fall out boy and pete wentz *shudder*

i listen to all music from death metal to pop rock, and i would like to see some better bands in the magazine too, and the elliot minor section is so fucking small this week, you probably wouldnt realise it was there, so to everyone thats whining aout 'another' elliot minor appearance, stop whining and just dont read that article!!

He's probably just trying to ensure that we don't have a repeat of last year when Machine Head stole the awards from right under the noses of MCR, provoking mass hysteria everywhere cos a metal band actually beat all the popular emo kids favourites.

Get a life dude, 30STM have done hardly anything to justify an award at all, never mind this year!

What's that about? the difference between Girls Aloud and 30stm is that 30stm actually play instruments and don't just preform silly dance routines. 30stm have a dedicated fan base who will always love them and most Girls Aloud fans grow out of them after a few years. Also 30stm don't have to wear as little as possible and still be considered role models for girls everywhere to get their fans.

I got the CD this morning (about 7:50am) as I was up anyway, and I dont even like Maiden particullaly (cant spell :p) much but I loved this CD. I thought it was really well played and with the exception of MH (Just dont like them too much, good band though) and A7X (his voice just isnt suited to this! I'm sorry - I love A7X...but its not that great =[ ) its brilliant FREE cd!

I was gonna get this just for the CD - Dream Theater in particular - but the magazine actually looks decent too! High On Fire, The Bronx, Pepper Keenan, Soulfly - not to mention a decent poster section for once - looks like a half decent job this week!

By the way, the album of the year already came out. Its 'Obzen' by Meshuggah. But a lot of you probably haven't heard of them...

Yeah, Run To The Hills was the song I was looking forward to the most (I had never heard of Sign so I didn't know what to expect) but when I listened to it I was like WTF! The guitar intro is the best bit! And they went and fucked it up using a fucking piano. All of the energy was tatally gone from the song.

It's a shame that the only consistantly decent part of Kerrang! is the album reviews. They people who write them sound actually interested in metal most of the time and they're usually accurate in their K rating.

To be honest I wouldn't buy Kerrang! on a regualr basis purely because most of the lack of metal music in it.

Kerrang! are obviously marketing their magazine at a more mainstream audience, giving the new better known bands more space and more time.

Whereas if you think about it the band that do deserve to be in the mag every week or fornight are the ones that have been around a good while and established themseleves.

For me that would be: In Flames, Lamb of God, Slayer.
Even bands I dont really like such as Korn deserve more recognition; and they're in the mainstream without being mainstream.

HIM and MSI fans seem pretty infantile really. They constantly rave about how 'pretty' what's-his-name is. Which shows what sort of fans the band attract.

I know there are 'die-hard' HIM fans that like the band for the music, but the band aims their music at the fans they want to attract.
E.g. Tusis/3 Inches of Blood wouldn't get fans rubbishing allother bands because of the looks of their frontmen...

Well just listened to the CD, Gallows cover was rubbish, so was Coheeds.

The best three was Fightstar (who suprised the shit out of me with their cover of Fear of the Dark, they pulled it off) , Machine Head totally owned Hallowed Be Thy Name, and Metallica made Remember Tomorrow sound like their own.

A7X disappointed me alot...

The majority of Maiden Heaven was a disappointment.

Started off well with Black Tide, Metallica and A7X - then Glamour of the Kill did 23:58 sounding like Bullet For My Valentine covering Iron Maiden. Coheed and Cambria's version of 'The Trooper' was awful. Devildriver's 'Wasted Years' sounded a bit clumsy. Sign fucking ruined 'Run To The Hills'.

Dream Theater's version of 'To Tame A Land' was awesome. Followed swiftly by Madina Lake's metalcore version of 'Caught Somewhere In Time' - did I hear a breakdown?! Gallows and Fightstar were competent musically but their vocalists left a lot to be desired. Machine Head's 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' was fantastic. Trivium's return to screaming and growling didn't help with their cover of 'Iron Maiden'. Year Long Disaster's 'Running Free' was surprisingly good. Ghostlines can go to hell for ruining 'Brave New World'.

All in all, not that great. The Metallica one was much better. Still some good covers though.

Will you PLEASE stop beating each other up! It's SO annoying! Yes, not enough non-mainstream bands get coverage, and we know that. We know Ville Valo is a pretty face to look at on a cover, but HIM ARE good you know. What a lot of you don't notice is we are entitled to listen to any music we want! I listen to Foo Fighters, MCR, Green Day, Nirvana, Metallica, 30STM etc. but I don't moan about not liking the cover story, or try to tell people how shit their favourite bands are, just because I don't like them! I don't really like Elliot Minor, but went to see them live in Nottingham (for free) with my friend and now I think they're okay without the classic stuff, though Ed Minton's voice is a bit annoying. Also, I would like to say that MSI are freespirited. They love their fans really, and keep the relationship with them alive. They keep an audience engaged. The fans know they love them, but MSI SHOULD show it a bit more I think. Fun & frivolity is all well and good, but as long as they don't take it too far then it's fine. Stop slamming on MCR too. They don't promote the "emo" scene. They give fans helpline numbers and stuff at shows for Grohl's sake! They KNOW a lot of their fans are so-called "emo"! That's because when you listen to their music, it helps you cope and comforts you with the messages! Also, I'd like to say a nice juicy FUCK OFF to that guy who slammed on Dave Grohl. Yes, K! overemphasize the fact he's the "Nicest Guy In Rock", but I'd also like to say that he DESERVES that title! Maybe you're one of these people who think all "Rockstars" should follow that song, and be arseholes (I hope that song was sarcastic, 'cause otherwise I'm gonna have some words with Nickleback), and think they should treat their fans like shit, AND the interviewers. They're an example to everyone, the Foos, so instead of claiming that Dave is a "capable drummer", get a reality check! Ever heard of Probot? THAT IS METAL! Or NIRVANAAAAAA?!!! He was Nirvana's drummer! If you DID know that, then you wouldn't respond to his abilities by calling them merely "capable". If you don't like the Foos, don't listen to them, and keep to your own heavier music or whatever! The music that the Foos come out with rocks like hell. Some people don't agree of course, but I ain't gonna manipulate them into liking them. I'm just asking everyone to give bands a fair chance, no matter what everyone else says.

I Went to this concert and I was not impressed with the reweiw in this Issue ot Kerrang! It had everything right about Maiden - they played an awsome show! But, it also implied that only the younger people enjoyed then performance from Avenged! My Dad was with me at the concert (He's 47) and he thought they were brilliant live, also there was a woman say next to me who looked in her 50's and she was singing along to all their songs and i spoke to the middle-aged men infron of me and they'd never heard of A7X, but were extreamly impressed by their show!

To anyone that trashed Ville Valo, you're and idiot, because you know nothing about Ville or H.I.M., because they are an amazing band, and Kerrang wouldn't put Ville out there if it didn't make them money, so shut the fuck up! I agree with the comment above! HIM rock! And to anyone who said that HIM are always in Kerrang...that's a load of bullshit. I've been waiting for fucking ages for them to appear in it. It's like once every blue moon that they appear on the front...

I live in the USA and I preordered this issue of Kerrang w/ the Maiden CD. My credit card was charged but I still have not yet received the magazine (August 14).
I cannot find anyway to contact Kerrang anywhere onthe website. Hopefully someone with the magazine reads this and gets back to me.

hi im a regular buyer of Kerrang in Australia and it comes out here months after the acctual date its released.. im jst a little pissed cause i was sooo looking forward to the CD and all the songs ar different to the ones on the case... its a totaly different track list...
