Ian Camfield joins K! Radio

Ian Camfield has joined the team at Kerrang! Radio.

The New York based presenter will be hosting the “Kerrang! Show” on Friday nights, replacing Yvette Fielding’s “Fright Night” which ended last week.

The Kerrang! Show – a three hour collision of rock, punk, metal and alternative - will broadcast from New York’s K-Rock studios where Ian also presents the drivetime slot.

Program Director Gordon Davidson says:
“Ian is joining Kerrang! Radio as our ‘Brit abroad’, he really knows his rock music and the ‘Kerrang! Show’ will be a great kick-start for the weekend.”

Ian Camfield says:
"For a decade I had a weekly show where I could play the best in all things rock. That was always my favourite program and I have missed it immensely this year. I am extremely excited to be returning to UK airwaves with this format and to be doing it with Kerrang! It's a perfect fit."

Camfield’s first show on Kerrang! Radio will be on July 25 which will air every Friday 10pm – 1am.

Exactly! Camfield is awesome. I only just got used to Martin or whatever his name is and now there's some strange lady who plays total rubbish and is rather irritating.

Maybe you should tune into Total Rock Radio then. No playlist as such and they don't bow down to what's allegedly in fashion at the moment. And it's LOUD!!

As the dude above me (another david i see) says, Kerrang radio/tv is pretty rubbish these days, especially if you are a metal fan. I never both with either - whats the point, there's never any metal or decent rock (aka not poppy crap aimed at 15 year olds) played. When i've heard kerrang radio before it was even playing all the indie rubbish you get on radio 1 anyways - whats the point of an alternative radio station if it's just goign to try and appeal to people who run a mile when confronted with a Pantera riff?

I hardly speak negative about anything on these damn forums,

but i have to agree,
ive watched kerrang tv and yeh it isnt full on metal all the while but its till plays stuff that you see in the magazine.

but the radio is something else,
apart from the few shows (of which are very late at night) the main shows are made up of music that isnt loud at all

the fratellis,
arctic monkeys,
pigeon detectives

and many more indie bands,
i have nothing against these bands at all,
but thats NMEs field not kerrangs,
kerrang does what it does best with the heavier side of things not indie

for every other area of kerrang,
sort these NOOBS out will y

Who gives a shit. Ian Camfield is probably the dumbest, most pointless, annoying "rock" dj on the plant. Then again, Kerrang is probably the dumbest, most pointless, annoying "rock" Magazine, radio station and tv channel in the world. So like for like, good luck to the useless cunt!

Back in the day it was good, but yes, now it fucking sucks. The only heavy things played on Kerrang tv are the over played things like Slipknot - Duality (dont get me wrong its a good song but they play that then some pansy assed shit after)

They should sort that shit out
