Corey Taylor: "I'm not the next fucking Pete Wentz"

Slipknot will launch their own clothing company later this summer under the moniker of Tattered And Torn, a track from the band's demo album Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.

Tattered And Torn will be distributed in the US exclusively though Hot Topic.

"That doesn't make me the next fucking Pete Wentz," frontman Corey Taylor told Kerrang! when we asked him about the band's entrepreneurial skills. "It's just something cool we wanted to do for our fans.

"When I look at what we've achieved over the last ten years I've always seen us, in a lot of ways, like Slayer," the singer continues. "They're a lifestyle and so are we. We're always getting new young fans which is fucking cool and insane."

God i LOVE slipknot.
Not the music, but the band. They are the one band who, even though I dont like their music, i absalutely LOVE reading news stories about them.

They are just so arrogant and up their own asses. Even more entertaining than a Manowar interview, because slipknot actually THINK they're metal.

I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I genuinely enjoy reading these slipknot stories. I find the fact their frontman has to defend himself against being like Pete Wentz says enough.

On a slightly darker side, Its not a good sign how their fans are stuck in a permenent "mallcore" stage...

i may be an idiot, but at least i can construct a sentence. judging by the fact you think slipknot are metal you are probably between the ages of 12-15, your favorite bands (apart from slipknot) are bullet for my valentine and killswitch engage (omg dey r da metulz, amirite? \m/...) and you have no idea about real metal bands like Nile, Sonata Arctica, Decaptitated, Angra and Power Quest are. Also, you dont listen to anything outside of your shitty mallgoth bands.

Lastly, its not called "mallcore" because its stocked in malls (your writing here was at its poorest!! B+ for effort though!!), but because of the typecasted image of mallgoths like you hanging around hottopic with your baggy jeans and your korn hoodies.

Ok, I love Slipknot's music and their general attitude but there is no way I am going to buy their clothing based on those designs. Just because I like metal music it doesn't mean I dress in black with skulls and other images involving death. Not the best move in my opinion.
