10 songs you should hear now!

METALLICA, FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS
Captured live at this year’s Pinkpop festival, the grand high masters of all things metal infuse this classic with the snarling grit it deserves!

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, THE EXORCIST
Don’t let the pretty acoustics at the beginning fool you! The brothers Cavalera imbue this Possessed classic with enough bile to dissolve an aircraft carrier.

MACHINE HEAD, HALO
A favourite monster from their Blackening CD, Halo sees the Bay Area crew at their bruising and epic best. Crushing in all the best ways.

ALTER BRIDGE, WATCH OVER YOU
Roping in the lovely Cristina Scabbia, this is the kind of heartfelt ballad that grabs hold of the old heartstrings and makes you go all wobbly.

STONE GODS, YOU BROUGHT A KNIFE TO A GUNFIGHT
With so much swagger it’s amazing they don’t fall over sideways, this bad boy rocker is a leather clad brute with a great ‘fuck you’ chorus

DATA SELECT PARTY, NO GIRLS ALLOWED
Maybe what Minus The Bear would sound like if their sole goal was to get you shaking your moneymaker, this is a wonky grooved winner.

THE SEA, DON’T YOU WANT ME
There’s nothing wrong with a bit of belted out ‘doo-doo’ (although do-do is a different matter) and bolstered by slick rock grooves, this does the job!

ALUNA, SPEND MY TIME
Ah yes, those in need of a fix of psychedelic blues doom with seductively sleazy female vocals need look no further than this Birmingham mob.

SAY ANYTHING, SHIKSA
With enough vocal harmonies to rival Queen served up on a bed of punk pop perfection, if this doesn’t make you smile you’re dead. No, really.

THE LAMP OF THOTH, WITCHCRAFT AND THE LAW
Praise be the joy of the low-end riff! And the berserk vocal! And lyrics that make your head want to go boom! All in one place!

Say Anything

I adore Say Anything, this song is amaze but was SO disapointed when i saw them live in birmingham last week, support bands were amaze but then the band only played 7 songs, a half hour set because of "technical faults" so max sent the band offstage so he cud do 3 songs on his own! The songs they played were incredible but i dont see how a sore throat can make u stop singin with a band but then can sing on your own.

Defense of the Genre is an incredible album tho <3
