Slipknot album news

Slipknot have announced that their upcoming album, entitled All Hope Is Gone, will be released through Roadrunner Records on August 25 - the day after the Reading and Leeds festivals.

"All Hope is Gone is more of a statement than a record," says the band's frontman Corey Taylor. "Every album we have made is a statement about that space in time. I think this era is the most mature, most beautiful and the most powerful. We have made an album that will show the road behind, the road ahead, and where we are as men. I think it's the best thing I've ever made. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong."

All Hope Is Gone was produced by the band themselves alongside Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Simple Plan, Superjoint Ritual).

The first official single from All Hope is gone will Psychosocial, which will be released digitally on June 30. However if you're itching to hear new Slipknot material, the album's title track is available as a free download for the rest of today (Friday) from www.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk.

Kerrang is slow

1) I had this song weeks ago - well - I got sent it weeks ago, proving that Kerrang should have heard it weeks ago and reviewed it.

The new single

I was really disappointed with it
The first metal band i ever got into was slipknot they have really unique songs and then 3 or 4 songs that all sound the same. I thought the new one sounds like one ive heard before especially the begining

Bring it on sooner!

The album is completed which is great news for thousands of Maggot's, it is just a pity it will not be realeased before some thier European dates.

At least fans will have this new download plus the new single to get to know before the shows.

Each album has been a progression and I fully expect this to be the same.

2008 will finish with new albums from Slipknot, Metallica and one (maybe double) from AC/DC. From what I have heard all 3 bands material should be very good, should be some great outdoor shows next year.

Lets hope some of the above bands can play Download Festival next year, all 3 would be owesome after this years worst Download line-up!

But it's really heavy

no, theyre not wearin the big giant heads as their usual masks, joey said they were just a teaser.

i thougt the song was a bit shit at first but the more u listen to it the more it grows on you. now i love it :)

who ever says the song sucks is fucking gay or retarded and who ever else said cory needs to sing more they sang to much in vol.3 lets get heavy again hes got stone sour leave that melody shit with that and unleash slipknots awesomness because vol.3 sucked alot and one of u were right alot of songs sounded the same on vol.3 my fav album will always be self titled

I would say fuck off to you lol. I liked Slipknot, Iowa and Vol 3 all about the same! Ok - Cory should sing less! But thats not the point.

And yes - if people don't like Slipknot because they are screamy - try listening to your precious (but pathetic) Chester Benington - I like there music- but he is a SCREAMER.

The new song is amence - carn't get enough of it - Im gutted that i'll have to wait like 4 days to get the album though - I love slipknot and Im dieing to hear their new songs.
