Metallica name new album

Metallica have unveiled the title of their new studio album.

After posting an image on www.metallica.com last Monday (June 9) featuring the letters 'DC', the seminal Bay Area thrashers released four more cryptic messages before a post entitled "No More!" revealed that the album will be called Death Magnetic.

Death Magnetic will be released in the UK September through Mercury Records. You can read Kerrang!'s initial thoughts on the six tracks we've heard here.

Death Magnetic!!

It's gonna be fucking class!

I see they've gone with the 9 epic songs + one single track approach that Iron Maiden successfully carried off with their most recent album 'A Matter Of Life and Death'. That album ruled and I'm sure this one will follow suit! :-)

Death Magnetic!!

The only flaw in ytour logic is, that while Maiden have still shown they can write great songs over the past few years, Metallica stopped doing that in 1988.

Nice title

Nice title, now I have an clear idea what Metallica are gonna realse this september. Ill be hearing at Reading first so it better be good live first. And to be honnest, St Anger wasn't too bad but definatly not as good as albums like ...And Justice for all, and the Black Album, and they the band did say they are trying to bring back that sound, which will be epic!

Also loving the ablum clover lol:P

I think this is awesome, it shows Metallica are coming back.

From what's been going down on missionmetallica, this album is going to be decent. Not the best, but a fucking good comeback for sure.

Ahem

It means dan, that you shouldn't dismiss metallica. This album will be good and whilst it may not be to the level of the black album or master of puppets it will still be something that will get your attention
I cannot wait!
Oh and btw, best album of the year hands down has been:
Children of Bodom - Blooddrunk!
Fucking great album!

Im not feeling the name for the new album, its really not a Metallica-ish name for an album, not that load, reload or st. anger was Metallica-ish either. If they try to bring back the old sound, i really had hoped they would bring back the old type lyrics and hence album names as well. Just about every song they wrote before load (not as many as ususal on the black album) had lyrics with a meaning, they took a stand, told a story or something, Justice for all, Master of puppets, one, eye of the beholder etc. Very political type lyrics adding a whole new depth to the songs, then just the cool brutal, yet semi-symphonic, sound and melodies, rifs and shit.

Metallica rules!
