Kerrang! Awards 2008 are go!

Get ready, people. The Kerrang! Awards 2008 are fast heading this way. The most prestigious and star-studded of all rock 'n' roll ceremonies will take place at a secret location in London on Thursday, August 21. Decadence, merry hell-raising and possibly a little bit of sick will most definitely be on the menu.

But who will be walking away with a coveted K! Award on the night? You decide! Tell us who you think deserves each Award then check back on Wednesday July 23 for the shortlists.

WIN YOUR OWN TABLE AT THE K! AWARDS!
Every person who votes and who is over 18 years of age will also be in with the chance to win their very own table at this year's ceremony. Yes, you read that right. You and 9 friends could be rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in rock at the Kerrang! Awards 2008 and the Aftershow party!

yeah but this guarentee's some big names will attend the event, who would otherwise be busy a few weeks before or any other time.

You can therefore assume Metallica, Slipknot, RATM, QOTSA, Tenacious D, Avenged Sevenfold, Serj Tankian, Bullet For My Valentine, Gallows, Alkaline Trio, Less Than Jake, ALexisonfire...etc etc, may all attend unless they announce warm up gigs on the same night

kerrang rocks, but 18 years old, come on, i went to the metalhammer golden gods on monday, and that was for people 16 and over, and i can't believe that the K! awards are any different from that, maybe a bit lighter music

I forsee a ballot stuffing in favour of My Chemical Romance. Can't there be a seperate emo section?

(I would actually like to see a few genre distinction awards - it's not fair to pit Opeth against Kill Hannah, for example. I can't see there being much common ground between the fans.)

Best Newcomer ------ Annotations of an autopsy - who have taken a lot of stick from critics . They played an awesome set at download and showed thier critics that they mature and have substance and are no studio band and that they can realey play and give a live performance to rival many bigger bands
