It's about time my ears took a well earned rest! No more screeching Way for a while. I am so glad.

I just hope that during this "year long hiatus" that Kerrang grows enough balls to screw the scene and go back to their roots.

I have never liked and never will like MCR so this is very good news to me.

What ever they do for album #4, they will never be as liked as they were during the bullets and revenge years - they went from being put up with do being hated.

And its not a hiatus K!, you can't say that every band who is not recording is on hiatus! your main flaw is that MCR will be recording!

They deserve a break like no other band I can think of at the moment, but I'm really going to miss them.
For the past few years, they have been the band that have inspired me to get up in the morning, and now that their future is uncertain, I'm already starting to worry about what I will do with my life.
But I know that I will stay strong, because - thanks to them - I have learnt that I need to live my life to the fullest. And I intend to do that, even while they're on their break.
I cannot wait to hear what they'll have for us for the 4th album, but I really hope they have a good break where they can enjoy the little things in life, like being with their wives, pets and just hanging out.

So even though I will miss them, they definitely deserve it.
We'll be waiting, MCR :)

to be fair though...apart from a few shows early this year, they have done bugger all for a year anyways! so don't know what everyones complaining about?

If you don't like a band, don't waste your time moaning about it, how about going off and finding some new bands?

I think people are too scared to do this, and that's why everyone hates MCR, because they only heard them when 'Im Not OK' came out. I actually decided to check them out when i heard a few early tracks, and eventually went on to buy their debut album 'Bring me your bullets...'. I remeber telling everyone how cutting edge and raw it sounded and how they should check them out. But all i got was 'WHO??' and 'WHAT'???.

A Year or so later, the second album came out and that's when they started to attract more fans. and then eventually it all took off when Black Parade was released. By now a lot of dedicated fans would probably abandon the band they've supported since day1, just because they got big and 'sold out'. SO FUCKIN WHAT? kudos to bands who do it solely for the pleasure of making music and stay independant and do things how they want, but if i could play guitar, write lyrics and perform as a job, and get paid for it, i'd fuckin take it. and anyone who says any different is most probably a lier.

Anyways, i'm going to keep buying MCR records because i believe i'd be selling them out by decided to 'FUCKIN HATE THEM'. They may not be one of my favourite bands, but they sure know how to put on one hell of a show and write a fantastic record. And if that makes me 'un-cool' then i don't give a fuck tbh!

If you are that low that all you do is go on and on about bands that rock and say they suck then get a real life.

Gerard, Frank, Mikey, Ray and Bob would NEVER believe that their songs leaded to a girl to kill herself, their songs are an insperation to so many people to keep on living.

if you ever actully listen to the lyrics you would now what they are singing about. They really did change my way of looking at life so if you had any heart you would listen to their lyrics before you say shit about them.

Its a shame The Black Parade is dead but it had to happen sooner or later.
But it will remain an important thing in our lives forever and TBP was something really special.

The band have worked there asses off over the past couple of years and they should take as long as they like for a break, we dont want them overworking and getting ill.

It's a shame that just because all the stupid teenies jump on the bandwagon that everyone always slags the band off. I'm a 20 year old guy who thinks MCR are one of the best bands ever and I have thought so since I heard their first album [BULLETS not THREE CHEERS]. Their music helped me through one of the toughest times of my life and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next even if we have to wait a year.

the media are making out MCR to be a religion. they are making out that the EMO's believe that when they die, they will all go to the black parade, as a haven heaven sort of life after death. This makes MCR look like a religion! My Chemical Romance are only a band, as much as i love them! They may seem like gods to all us fans. But in reality they are only mortal humans, who give out life changing messages.
So really they are like a way of life, not a thing to follow. Religion is like restricted guide lines. MCR dont want to give us boundries, they want us to live life to the fullest!!!

I think one of the main reasons they're going away is the same reason Coldplay went into hiding for so long.

They've pretty much been overexposed in the media. The death of that girl probably only exacerbated a decision they'd already made; to lay low so that when they come back they'll have hype again.

1) I'm 34 and I think MCR are pretty fucking good. Their songs are catchy, they're good at getting a crowd going live and they're not a bunch or pretentious fuckwads like far too many acts these days.

2) I also like Maiden, Priest, Slayer, Bowling For Soup, Deicide, Obituary, Norther, Fear Factory, Carcass, Paradise Lost and countless other bands. Kindly stop lumping myself and a ton of other MCR fans in with the teeny bandwagon-followers who *do* exist.

3) All of you - I don't care if you're slagging the band off or not - please learn to fucking spell and write English properly. It doesn't help your cause when your post makes you look like a retard who's not got past Topsy and Tim at school.

This band have been touring the same frikin album for like 25 years now it seems. I saw them at brixton then wembley and i thought they would have thought "ok that was a great album and tour. now lets have a break/start recording" instead they have totally milked the black parade to get every penny out of anything they can. there was a time I had respect for these guys but they just seem frikin lame now. no album til 2009? u could have released 2009 different albums by now

To be honest, I can't stand them. I saw them at Reading the other year and there we pretty awful, but I'll give them credit for sticking out the bottling they got.

People will miss them, people will hope they never come back. It's always the same whenever a band becomes popular. (As an aside, I remember when Limp Bizkit were supposed to be the hot new underground band, then the next big thing, then hated by all.)

By the time they come back the next bandwagon will have rolled along. They've peaked now.

I wish I could skip straight forward to 2009 now! They totally deserve a break though - spend time with their wives, friends and family. why does everyone love my chemical romance? i think they are poor quality music and lyrics are trying to be gothic but too close to the emo edge and the image of the band itself is just all round emo.

Not everybody love them, as you can see in here. Just... it's like if I ask you why you love the music you love.

I think that you just do it, of course you can say "oh I love them 'cause this and that" but maybe I don't like those reasons and I won't say "they're shit dude, you shouldn't listen to them" or "cool! I won't listen about THAT band during a year" 'cause not everybody love the same music and if you dont like it, just don't listen to it and just skip the pages that talk about them.
