Lit cancel UK tour

Lit have been forced to cancel their planned UK and European tour dates following the sad announcement that the group's drummer, Allen Shellenberger, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

"We are sad to have to be writing you all this letter," writes frontman A. Jay Popoff in an online post on their official site on May 5. "Our brother, Allen Shellenberger, is currently in the hospital undergoing testing and treatment for a brain tumour that was just discovered. We are still not sure what his prognosis is and unfortunately, we will not be able to make the shows in the UK and Europe.

"At this point we have to just stay put and be by Allen while he goes through this difficult time," adds Popoff. "We will make it up to you as soon as we can. Allen sends his thanks for the well wishes and he's sorry we had to cancel these shows. Thanks for your understanding."

wasn't exactly a 'tour' as such, more like a one off London date.

Good luck

Good luck to him and hope that he recieves a good prognisis and makes a good recovery.

In response to sophie above, yes you can survive from a brain tumour, it all depends on where it is in the brain and if surgery and other treatments are possible

Holy...

I've loved Lit since they first came out... this saddens me imensely. D: GET BETTER SOON, ALLEN.

As for brain tumours, older people CAN survive them. My grandmother had a brai tumour when I was six. Of course, thanks to gross negligence, they didn't remove the entire tumour, and it developed into cancer (she died in 2001, after seven long years)...

But that's pretty damned rare.

I hope there is something they can do for him!
Advice for him: think positive and keep your chin up! You can beat anything if you put your mind to it!

Sad News

This is sad news. Lit are a great band (and to all those who haven't heard em check em out), and nobody deserves to go through this. All the best to Allen and all the band, and I wish you a speedy recovery, and may God help you through

I just heard last night. I have followed the bands music since high school( yeah class of 87!!) Alan and I went to school together. He was always so cool. Hey dude keep your head up and don't let it get you down. I have a dear friend with a brain tumor and she's doing well and i'm a nurse and I see people recover ALL the time---Nicki Vinci
