Green Day Gurl, shut the hell up. You've obivously not taken the time to listen to all those bands, all while living in that bubble you like to call an open mind...honestly.
High On Fire - one of the best additions yet! Could be clashing with Disturbed or Motorhead though, that wouldn't be too good.
The rest of the bands are a bit hit and miss - but this weekend is going to be awesome, much more rocking than anything Glastonbury or Leeds/Reading can ever provide!

Reading & Leeds
only 4 or 5 good bands playing?
Metallica
Rage Against The Machine
Queens Of The Stoneage
Biffy Clyro
Slipknot
Tenacious D
Avenged Sevenfold
Taking Back Sunday
Anti Flag
Bullet For My Valentine
Feeder
Dropkick Murphys
Alexisonfire
Gallows
Alkaline Trio
Less Than Jake
Kids In Glass Houses
Pennywise
Set Your Goals
Fucked Up
Cancer Bats
Goldfinger
Thrice
..... the list goes on. I don't like all of those bands, but they're all bands that get covered in Kerrang.
Reading and Leeds has always had a mixture of different bands from different genres, because people who go there have open minds and like to check out bands from all types of music.
Lethal Bizzle is fucking quality live aswel, he doesn't glorify guns or any of the bad shit you get with American 'Gansta rappers', he's a down to earth guy making quality music, so what if he's out of place on the download bill?? there's stranger acts on there (Elliot Minor anyone?)
Just get over the fact that Download has decided to diverse a bit away from the label of 'METAL FEST'
Lol.!
Download this year is awful.!
Only decent bands are Bullet and Biffy!
And their at Leeds haha!
Leeds and reading is so much better.!
We have slipknot you have elliot minor LOL
We have the greatest thrash metal band ever (Metallica). you have job for a cowboy
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Metallica saved their best festival performance for Download 2006 when they did Master of Puppets in full.
And, about that greatest thrash band thing...Download has Testament, who, no disrespect to Metallica as I'm a big fan of them, never changed and stayed true to themselves and to their fans and are now back with a major vengeance. Testament, quite simply, thrash more than Metallica. So there.

There are plenty of bands playing download that are way better than bfmv and biffy clyro. They are two of the most boring bands there! Just because you haven't heard a band doesn't make them awful!
Posted by jon | May 13, 2008 10:45 AM | Reply to this
true
fair point
although i'd disagree with Biffy being boring. They're amazing live, sure they'll play some of their older heavier stuff at download aswel.
Can't see why people argue about one festival being better than the other? If i could, i'd go to both!! there's an equal amount of bands playing each i'd love to see, most relatively new aswel.
Download will get slipknot to headline next year so don't worry!
Sorry, should have said i personally find biffy clyro boring. I was just making the point that people (like simon) are moaning about the lineup when they probably don't know that much about bands on it. I'm not going to moan that bfmv and biffy clyro are playing as they obviously appeal to a lot of people. The point i'm making is before people moan about the lineup they should check the bands out! There are a lot of decent bands out there people haven't heard of and just because they don't have a huge following they are not awful!

KISS tribute band DRESSED TO KILL
DRESSED TO KILL - THE KISS tribute band - have new website, myspace, and youtube channels:
I didn't see the Gallows playing on the list, so why is Lethal Bizzle there? How i see it is tht he is going to get bottled off the stage. Better get your armour, Lethal Bizzle! Other than that, Download line-up looks gr8, nd yer, i think BFMV and Biffy Clyro are amazing. I shall watch on TV :D
