Another Download announcement!

Tune into K! dot com this evening at 8PM GMT to find out about the latest crop of bands set to play this year's K!-sponsored Download festival.

The Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival will be headlined by: Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets.

The full list of other bands on the bill so far is as follows:

The Download festival takes place the weekend of June 13 to June 15. Tickets are on sale now. Prices are as follows: a full weekend ticket: £130, standard camping: £20, camper van: £40, family zone camping: £20, lockers: £11, parking £10 in advance or £15 on the day. There will be a variety of ticket packages available to buy, including the RIP packages (a VIP package) from £315. For Club or VIP Experience packages, please call 020 7009 3484 to discuss your requirements.

i'm not going to get exited because every anoucnement always ends in a disapointment

but i think the most promising bands to get anounced would be

posibly gallows

dragonforce

they are the only bands i can see being anounced this week

Donington is Dead.

What's the point in mentioning any decent bands? They aren't going to be added now. Download sucks ass this year. Last year we had Slayer, Megadeth, Maiden, Machine Head, Korn, Stone Sour, Evanescence... The list of awesome bands goes on. And what have we got this year? Kids In Glass Houses, Madina Lake, Pendulum, Bullet For My Valentine... The list if shit bands goes on.

What the fuck has happened, Download? The awesome place that was Donington has become a shell of it's former self... In the space of a year. Theres a few decents bands playing, but not not enough to actually spend money on. You could say that this is just opinion, but see for yourself the Donington/Download lineups of past years, and you'll see what I mean.

To all those asking for Slayer/Machine Head etc, they played LAST YEAR, a festival booking the same bands every year is stupid, like wise with Metallica, who've played a ridiculous amount of times in recent years. Slipknot are in the studio during Download, Avenged turned down the chance to play for Reading (possibly because they've done this one most recently? Or because they get twice the fee for Reading and Leeds). Killswitch also were last year. DevilDriver would be another repeat band. You don't have to go, there are plenty of alternative festivals but it's a sad state of affairs if you still believe it's a METAL festival.

This is actually true, and I accept your point. However, Within Temptation had something of a disastrous set, the others have grown in stature and Biffy/Within Temptation aside are not major bookings. It's understandable to see some repeat bookings with smaller bands, but to ask for the same main stage major bands year in year out is just wrong.

Definitely isn't Avenged Sevenfold. I heard straight from M. Shadows himself in January that they're only doing Leeds and Reading festivals.

I'm not actually going so I'd like to see more bands that suck there. Just because it makes me laugh hysterically over how worked up everyone gets.
