And the new Velvet Revolver singer isn't...

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach says he isn't in any hurry to join rock supergroup Velvet Revolver.

In an interview with on the The Buckethead Show on American radio station Tampa 98 Rock yesterday, the singer said he would find it "really awkward" joining VR.

"I've talked to Slash recently and I think it'd be really awkward for me to join that band," said bach. "Number one, my new record, Angel Down, I like it more than Velvet Revolver records. That's just being totally honest. I love Guns N' Roses' material, but I've got my own old songs - Skid Row - so for me, it would all depend on music. I wouldn't just join the band just to join the band."

However, Bach's not totally ruling out ever stepping into departed frontman Scott Weiland's shoes... Well, maybe not.

"If we came up with some incredible new songs, then maybe I'd think about it," he revealed. "But honestly, I'm very close friends with [Guns N' Roses frontman] Axl [Rose], and he sings three songs on my new record. Axl's been so nice to me - he's helped me out my whole career. In Skid Row he helped us out, and in my solo band he brought me around the world, and then sang three songs on my new CD, which is pretty mind-blowing.

"I don't know... It's a cut-throat business, but Axl's been so nice to me, I don't think I would feel comfortable just joining Velvet Revolver and singing his songs every night. So I don't think that's gonna happen."

anyways...shame he feels that way about joining VR. As long as they find a decent singer i don't mind as long as it's better than the last album! eugh!

Shame

When I heard Scott had rejoined STP and Baz might step in to the vacant VR position I thought cool - two awesome bands instead of one ok band. I love STP and I'm glad they're back together... while Seb fronting VR would've been an incredible live band - just a shame it might not happen :(

Velvet revolver arnt a gun's n roses tribute band... he hasnt got a clue!
Axel has nothign to do with VR and never will do!

Have any of you guys ever been to a VR gig!?

VR play MR.Brownstone, Patience, It's so easy and have been known to play Paradise city......Which means that Axl in a way does have alot to do with velvet revolver, and Seb dosent want to sing those songs and the rest of VR do

yeh its true..they also play used to love her a lot....

i love VR an have been to a few gigs but as soon as they play the guns n roses songs,the crowd goes mental!!..

so i can totally understand what sebastian is saying

i think Chris Cornell would fit kind a good, cause he has a really great voice that can be perfekt in the band :)

Cornell is a quality crooner but should really get the awesome Soundgarden back together (who i saw supporting GNR way back when)
Bach, despite his last album being really good, should get back with Skid Row
While we're at it why don't the old GNR boys have a big group hug, kiss and make up and get back together (b4 Axl unleashes his solo Guns mistake)

The thing I got from what Bach said was basicaly "Yeah I like the band but the music's shit!!" and he seems to think his own records will do better.

Only time will tell on that one.

And with Chris Cornell being linked, I can't see it, he pulled out of Download to apparently spend more time recording solo stuff so for him to turn around and join another band at this point would be silly.

As much as I like him he's only being linked cause he so similar to Weiland (only not insane :P)
