30STM: "This weekend will be goodbye for some time"

30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto has told Kerrang! that the band's headline date in Edinburgh on Friday and this weekend's Give It A Name festival will be British fans' last opportunity to see the cult American rockers for some time.

"We're really happy to be coming back to the UK," Leto told K! "More than anything it's a chance for us to say thank you and goodbye to everyone who has been so supportive and kind towards us on the back of the last record."

Leto revealed that the reason why this weekend's shows will be the band's last in the UK for a while is because 30STM are poised to hit the studio to start work on the follow-up to their 2005 breakthrough album A Beautiful Lie.

"We're going to be doing a new record in the not-too-distant future," says Leto. "So we'll be spending a lot of time writing and recording. We may not be back for quite some time, but at the moment our priority is on creating new music."

in reply to scitty dan, the words envy, pathetic, clearly deaf and no taste in music spring to mind if it was not for 30STM i would never have even listened to similar music i would love the chance to see them but certain problems stop this so think yourself damn well honoured to even see them! ps please dont stress me again you give me headache.

thats not confirmed.
the reason bands are down as 'special guests' is because they are already announced playing a big festival in the UK like GIAN or Download and so don't get announced until the festival is finished. And as i don't see Down announced for playing either looks like they won't play. Also they announced on their myspace they would play, but then the dates disapeared, so maybe they had to pull out before they could get announced

If you don't like a band then don't bloody comment!!!!! In fact, don't even click on a link to look at news on the band!!!!

Personally, i love 30 seconds to mars. I'm not saying YOU should like them because everyone has their own personal taste but leave them ALONE.

Go get a life, because the one you've got is obviously shit if you have nothing better to do than waste your time commenting on a band you don't even like.

I'm not all that into 30STM, and tbh, when I saw them at Rock Am Ring, they were crap. BUT! I am excited to see what new stuff they'll come up with, unless everyone has forgotten them by the time the new album comes out.
Let's just hope it's not another version of A Beautiful Lie. They're one of those bands that need to reinvent themselves, or everyone will get bored of them.

I've seen them 4 times, 1 bad gig (tech-probs), 2 good ones, 1 giant !

Leto is a great singer/frontman. Who says you have to look like shit to be an acceptable band ? What's the problem with showing a good ass if you have one ?

It's the music that counts - and both Mars-albums are great stuff.
