Trivium have nearly finished the pre-production stages of their upcoming follow-up to 2006's The Crusade.
The band will soon enter the studio for the next leg of the recording journey with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Velvet Revolver, Stone Sour, Foo Fighters).
Kerrang! understands the as-yet-untitled effort will sound quite similar to their break-through album Ascendancy.
Thank sweet baby damian!!! Really hope they go back to basics with the new album, The Crusade wasn't too bad but Ember to Inferno and Ascendency we're awesome!!!!! Can't wait to hear some of their new material.

The crusade was bad ... dear god oh dear god please dont let them do anouther one of thoose .. .sure it had its ups but it had far to many lows.. and it seemed like they were trying to sound like anouther metal icon (metallica) but hey its there choiceand lets hope they hace gon abeck to being Trivium and not metallica 2.0 :P

Im really looking foward to hearing it and hopefully going to see them live again cos there kick ass live!!

Where do you get this from?!
Trivium themselves have said they're taking all the best parts of the last three albums and mixing them together. So it will sound like all three of the albums, not just Ascendancy. All three are fantastic albums, so I can't wait to hear this! :D

I sure hope their car explodes when taking them to the studio and the master copy of the album is destroyed. Seriously, Trivium and their fans are a disgrace to metal.
For christ sake, all their songs are plagiarisms from other bands such as GnR, Megadeth, Slayer and Kreator.
I hope they have to suck Satans fiery arse in hell.

why are they goin back to the old stuff? just another metalcore band? its proper annoying how many metalcore bands there are nowadays n trivium were more individual in the crusade becuase of the fact they were just pure metal not metalcore bolox, yes ascendancy was good, but there is nothing different on it than bfmv, as i lay dying and shit like that, boy band vocals with screaming, why? trivium for fucks sake dont go back to ascendancy ways for the love of metal!!

Trivium never was a metalcore band. Their music is not similar to bullet, as i lay dying, atreyu and others...
Metalcore is something between hardcore punk and metal.
Trivium is something between Thrash and Melodic death. Trivium don't have any of hardcore elements!
Why trivium is labeled as metalcore???
Because they have their own style???
They have great riffs, and they have solos in EVERY songs.
I'm fan of Slayer, Megadeth, old Metallica, Testament, Overkill and Exodus, and I love Trivium too.
Trivium = 100% real pure metal.
