WHAT'S YOUR OPINION ON THE TRACK?

Please remember to include a link to your MySpace profile so that, if we use your response, we can print a picture of you.

Psycho - Puddle Of Mudd

Psycho strikes me as being more commercial than their older work, as it's especially more radio friendly than 'She hates me'. It just looks like 'post grunge' is having a revival.

What the fuck?

They had one hit years ago and now theyre having a second go, what do I think of the song?

i listened to 30 seconds of it, sounds like a bad attempt at ripping off Kurt Cobain...AGAIN

i don't understand how this song is doing so well, It's completely boring
they're still trying to carry themselves on with their two catchy tunes "Blurry" and "She Hates Me" and it doesnt fool me.

Give it up.

The weeks burning question!

I think the song was really good but not that great, i dont think it should have become top in the chart for 9 weeks that's just ridiculous!...I mean there are other better bands but some people like it and others dont.
I personally think Puddle Of Mud are much more greater of a band than Nickleback!!!

I think Phsycho is an awesome song. Its catchy and a step away from there usual style - its good to see a band that can do versatility at this stage in there career.
Coming Clean was an awesome album, and I think Psycho is bringing back the sucsess they deserve. :) Posh talkin over - Mudd Rock! x

Psycho by Puddle of Mud is another fantasticly written song that deserved to stay in the charts as long as it did. It has interesting guitar riffs matched with complex lyrics giving it a 9/10 from me! Good Job!

I never actually liked them but this single starts like something a self-confessing indie kid would be embarrassed of! And then it goes into 'I'm so hardcore coz I'm trying to sound like A7X' mode!
As I said, I never liked the before but thats coz I had never really listened to them... But now, whenever I have nothing on my mind, in the back of my head I will always be able to hear 'KILL THOSE FUCKING PSYCHOS!'
As you can tell, i did not think much of this.
Is it just me or is he saying
'Maybe I'm a wall!'

Psycho is probably not the best song of a fairly uneventful new album. We Don't Have To Look Back Now is a far better song. Just proves to show that anything can make the charts.

To be fair it just shows how little people pay attention to. First Nickelback's Rockstar shows us how no-one has any ears left, and now POM get Psycho up for nine weeks?
All Americans who have bought the single are deaf, obviously.

Man fuck the haters of this song, or just fuck the people who are saying that the song is shit just cause it's from Puddle of Mudd, who cares if Puddle of Mudd sang it? Psycho's still a pretty damn awesome song and people who judge it simply cause it came from PoM are idiots, cause they're judging the artist and probably haven't even listened to the song.

This song is now becoming the victim of:
"It's at the top of the charts, let's hate it so we sound different to all the people that like it."

Jesus Christ, this song is fucking brutal. I am not a fan of PoM but I'm not a hater either. I simply don't know much about them atall. I listened to the track with an open mind and about 20 seconds in I had to turn it off. The singer's voice is grating, the lyrics are quite frankly shit and the music is boring.

Although it would seem simple musically, this has given Puddle of Mudd and a lot of today's popular bands their status. With a catchy Nirvana-esque chorus, "Psycho" is certainly one to headbang to!

I get the idea of, driving in a rather slow car with no roof having it blasting with a few guys in the back throwing their arms around in a hot place.
Not something i would intentionally listen to, but worth hearing it i think.

The Burning Question

Check it.

Yo, Puddle of Mudd
They've come a long way
From Kansas City, and those garage playing days

Being young, angry teens
Surrounded by hate and lies
Engulfed in the grunge scene
with "drift and die"

Then, over the years
They sounded less raw and abrasive
The polished noise of "come clean"
had proved they'd made it

But their success was so blurry
With their life on display
And with the next five years
They just faded away

So here they are now
With their latest track, "Psycho"
Topped the charts for nine weeks
This is the POM revival

Word.

Can't say I'm overly keen on it, it's a "turn-off-half-way-through" type of song.

Puddle of Mudd - Psycho

Despite being very open-minded in the world of music, I have to say Puddle of Mudd is mediocre at the most. I don't want to sound harsh but this particular song lacks the imagination that Kurt Cobain and Nirvana had in writing their songs, which you can see in Psycho's lyrics. I appreciate the fact that P.O.M. might not care about things like this and just want to have fun, but to be succesful in the world of music, you cannot, and I mean cannot do it half heartedly. Puddle of Mudd, you have been warned.

P.S. What the hell does everyone have against Nickelback? Why don't you try appreciating their songwriting and instrumental skills instead of automatically calling them a "dead water" band just because they've been quiet for a couple of years? Just stop being such narrow-minded hypocrites!

The music isn't all that bad. Not the best thing I've ever heard. For this band, Mediocre is a MAJOR understatement.

There's no doubt that Puddle Of Mud have earend their place on the chart, however, nine weeks is too long for what it is. To me the song is meaningless; but that's my opinion.

Gone country.

I didn't know they allowed country tunes on alternative rock radio. Seriously, Wes' voice sounds like he's gone country. I fear for modern rock if this is #1. It's almost as bad as if Tim McGraw was to do a cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Its nice to see an old band coming back with a new song. They did have SOME decent songs out over the years. The songs no bad but i dont think it deserves top for 9 weeks....Wont get that kind of reception in the uk though.

Puddle of Mudd - PSYCHO

Puddle of Mudd have now completed there carefully PR coordinated transformation from a slightly edgy yet still parent friendly band in to a now completely sanitised, wholesome, clean cut, all American 'family' band.
They can now proudly sit alongside the likes of Nickelback and The Corrs as totally soulless, cash hungry meat puppets of the dying whore that is the music industry.
US modern rock.. FUCK THAT SHIT!
Thank God for Cavalera Conspiracy!

The only reason it's been no. 1 for nine weeks is that it's way more radio friendly and 'poppy' than their old stuff.
And to be honest it just sounds like a rubbish Nirvana soundalike band.

I've always thought that Puddle Of Mudd were trying to rip off Nirvana, and that doesn't seem to have changed.
Though maybe they're expanding...they're chorus is a rip-off of Seether.

An apology...

For my last comment I have to apologise. It was very harsh to call Puddle of Mudd mediocre. Yes, there are much better bands out there, but there are also a lot worse aswell. When writing comments like this, I do try to be as open minded as possible, but sometimes I can't find anything good to say about the band in question, so I have to be harsh. Sorry, P.O.M!

P.S. I'm getting fed up of everyone crucifying Nickelback just because they've only had a number of succesful songs, or were quiet for a number of years. Did anybody read about my comments about being open minded about music? Sort yourselves out!

I don't really like it. There's no kick for the chorus and its doesnt seem like they made much effort writing the lyrics and music, There are the same chord patterns throughout the whole song and it just sounds repetetive to me.

Wayyy Too Late.

Puddle of Mudd have always been a disappointment to the music industry, they've tried redeeming themselves with their other releases, but clearly haven't gained respect from music lovers. That's why i think it's wayyy too late for them to try and win over some fans by bringing out something new and totally crappy. [=

Puddle of Mudd - Psycho

I think Psycho is a brilliant song and the video to it is pretty hilarious as well. I am a massive fan of Puddle of Mudd and i own all three of their albums. Although Come Clean and Life on Display were brilliant, i think that Famous was a bit of a disappointment. But Psycho and Radiate were the best two songs. I just hope that if and when it is released in the UK that it doesn't turn out like Nickelback's Rockstar. It really does piss me off when a song you really like is over played by people who don't even like their music in the first place.

Really why doesn't Kerrang put more great UK metal bands on its covers? Do UK magazines have an aversion to UK metal these days. Put Johnny Truant on the cover when their new album is out. Reasure me that Kerrang hasn't forgotten its roots!!!!
