Stone Temple Pilots plan new album

Stone Temple Pilots will begin working on new material after they finish their summer reunion tour across the US.

According to bassist Robert DeLeo, the reunited grunge rockers will begin working on the follow-up to 2001's Shangri-La Dee Da once the band have "re-acclimating ourselves" with each other.

"I think new material will come probably after this tour," DeLeo told Billboard. "I think the whole thing now is kind of getting back and re-acclimating ourselves to the songs that we know. I think that's gonna make for a better atmosphere and better performances ... instead of doing a new record.

"Then, after this tour finishes, I think we're gonna be in a position where we've gotten to know each other again, and I think it's gonna be time to hit the studio."

finding it hard to get excited by this one...their last album 'shangra li fuck nuts' or whatever it was called was a joke...why cant decent bands call it a day and end on a high rather pushing their luck? oh yeah...money

Personally, i'm glad they're back together. We need more bands like this to blank out the excess of totally craptacular indie bands there are nowadays. I did enjoy their earlier stuff if i'm honest, but overall, another decent band to listen to rather than the shit they play today.

translation is...

We are going to tour, make some money, if Scott can contain his habits, we shall see...but we aren't making an album now because that could be a waste of time and the fans would rather spend money hearing our hits...
