Dont mention Diana...she's dead - why are we wasting fucking money to see how she died? NO ONE CARES.

Sophie Lancaster however... It made me nearlly cry to hear that someone had been killed due to how they dress - I had this problem - I was grabbed by the throat due to the same issue.

Hate Crimes are wrong - so why do people let it happen?

She deserves to be remembered, how tragic she was killed by a couple of mindless c**ty chavs.

All chavs should rot in hell period.

i agree that she deserves to be remebered and that i have repect for this charity but what you said is totally wrong

that weekend is gettuing all genres together

goths, emos, chavs, metalheads, rappers.

so you saying chavs should rot in hell is totally wrong
i mean the whole point of this is for everyone to be treat equally not what your saying.

you obz don't have a clue about this.

Agree with Ryan...

That IS kinda the point of the weekend.

It's so sad about how she died, even more so WHY she did.

What right did they have to kill her because she looks different?
Look at her, she's absolutely stunning.
If I lived closer to Basingstoke, I'd go to this without even thinking about it.
I just hope many people turn up and they raise lots for her family...

I agree with Megan, she's beautiful, and I hope that the event raises a huge amount of money. I cant attend beause of distance, but if I lived closer, I would be there the whole three days

I hope that this will be an event where, for once, chavs, emos, rappers, metalheads and goths can put their differences to rest and enjoy the weekend as one big communal family fighting for one cause.

Perhaps this will show the rest of the UK how to act towards each other and we can end the 'war' between different social classes

I think this is a great idea i just hope it sends a message out to the monsters who killed her because although sophie died she is still alive in the people that loved and knew her, she didn't deserve to die just because she looked and dressed differently, i hope they raise loads and loads of money in her memory.

I thinks its a great idea to hold this event to raise awareness of the discrimination that a lot of us alternatative fans have or will experience especially those by the tragic sophie lancaster and her boy friend, but some of the abuse that we are venting towards the 'chavs' if we keep it up it'll make us much the same way, this event is about tolerence remember that people.

I'm so pleased to hear that people care enough about Sophie Lancaster's death to organise a gig in memory of her, and to raise money. I just goes to show how much people are willing to do to help her family and friends, and of course, her boyfriend Robert Matley. No one could wish what happened to Sophie upon anyone, and I'm so glad that this gig is taking place. I will mean a lot to her parents and everyone who knew her, and it's also sending out a message to the people to killed her. It's fantastic people are willing to do so much for Sophie, and I'd like to thank them for that. Xxx

I live in the Burnley and Pendle area, there large gangs of youths that hang around the local shops and I know that I can't go down their because of the fact that I am labelled as a Goth. I am glad that their is a charity wanting to promote harmony between different social groups.

SOPHIE Weekend in Basingstoke

I live in Basingstoke, and am just one of a large number of people helping to promote and run the gig. If anyone can make it to Basingstoke on any of the 3 days it would be great to see you. The pub is literally out the back entrance of the main train station. If you can't make it I believe that it is possible to donate directly through the In Memory of Sophie Lancaster MySpace page

Remember

Why did the bastards pick on an innocent couple that didn't deserve what they got. This gig will be great but as long as you remember the purpose of it, to remember her.

SOPHIE Weekend in Basingstoke

I also live in Basingstoke and will be attending this event, i am not a goth or a chav, i don't think i could be put in a class, i'm just a married mum of 2 who happens to like all different kinds of music, i am friends with sum goths, chavs and other sorts of people, i don't class them thou, i see them as friends, they may dress differently to others but that doesnt make the whole person, i know when i attend the event i'm not gonna be singled out for not having piercings or not wearing a specific colour, it's great to see that it has generated alot of interest and i hope that this shows thru over the weekend, hope to see alot of varied faces there!

SOPHIE Weekender Basingstoke

The weekender is about tolerance, highlight and supporting the S.O.P.H.I.E campaign.
Helping to contact schools, colleges, to get them to go to free education exhibition like "Dress to Express" that will be touring around the country.
Also getting people to contact government to bring not just awareness but hopefully change.
To all that do come, Dress Bold and with Pride..

I agree with everyone who thinks that it was a good idea to do this in her memory. and i swear to god...for those sick fucks who killed her and badly injured her boyfriends...hell is even too good for them. let alone prison. if you ask me, the death penalty should be bought back to england and any murderer should be
